Jairo_MC commented on Review: Game of Thrones: Episode 6 - The Ice D...:

It's the weakest Telltale game, but I played only The Walking Dead and The Wolf Among Us.
Game of Thrones is good, but I think my familiarity with the show hurt my enjoyment of the game a bit.
I really think that my complete lack of knwoledge about Borderlands will make me enjoy Tales from the Borderlands more.
Having said that, the episodic game of the year, for me, is Life Is Strange.

Jairo_MC commented on Great Scott! Telltale's Back to the Future Tra...:

The film released the year I was born. I'm definetely feeling a bit old. Bought the game on PS3 when it was 0.99 in a flash sale, but never played it. I love the films and telltale, so I think it's about time to give it a go.

Jairo_MC commented on Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weeke...:

I was playing Splatoon on Wii U, the GameCube version on The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess on Wii and Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops on PSP.
However, Rare Replay arrived today and nostalgia kicked in big time, so I'll play Banjo-Kazooie for the rest of the weekend.

Jairo_MC commented on Japanese Sales Charts: Nothing to See Here, Go...:

@themcnoisy Everthing that @Storytime7 is spot on. I got a New 3DS and I enjoy all the little upgrades that it has, but you can enjoy most games on the regular. The C-Stick is actually good when you get used to it. If you like the 3D effect, it's a HUGE improvment over the regular model as it's VERY stable. Xenoblade Chronicles 3D is also a blast to play on the go.

Jairo_MC commented on Sony: Backward Compatibility Is a Requested F...:

Also, the lack of backwards compatibiliy open the path for PS3 users to upgrade to Xbox One instead of PS4 as there is no real advantage to brand loyality, since even the remasters aren't discounted for people whom already bought them on the Plyastation Sotre.

Jairo_MC commented on Feature: We Grade E3 2015's Press Conferences:

@JaxonH Completely agree with you.
MS did some work to get people excited about Xbox One and have a lot of games coming soon. Rare Replay was a nostalgia bomb and it was great to know it will be coming the month of my birthday. Backwards compatibility was pretty good as there's a chance I get to experience a lot of games I didn't get to play, as I never owned a Xbox 360. Tomb Raider look incredible and I'm really excited about it.
Sony did an amazing press conference, and I think it was better than MS. However, they still didn't sell me on a PS4, but made me really excited to play Final Fantasy VII on Xbox One at a later date. Oh yeah, the best announcement for me was FF VII remake and as it's only a timed exclusive, I don't have to worry too much about getting a PS4. However, as it's a remake from Square Enix, it will be a LONG wait until it's released... The Last Guardian and Shenmue 3 were huge surprises. I never played a Team Ico game and never played a Shenmue game, but I always read about them, so it's really good to see that they'l see the light of the day. Shenmue is also far away, but at least The Last Guardian is expected for next year. The thing that lacked on Sony's conference was some announcement for some games to be released this year, as the schedule seem filled with 3rd party games that can be played on Xbox One. I'd be REALLY happy if they gave us the release dat of Person 5...
As for the Nintendo Digital Event, I thought it was underwhelming. There was no real showstopper and a LOT of the games we knew about before. It's good to know some of the release dates and that we are getting a few good games this year but it was a bit disapointing. I'm looking forward to Starfox and I liked Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam a lot, but I wanted to be surprised. I think even a confirmation of the localization of Dragon Quest VII and VIII would be better than some things that we saw. They could cut some of the repeated games and show that The Great Ace Attorney or Theathrhythm Dragon Quest would also be localizes. Some more information on Bravely Second, I don't know, something else...

Overall, I think Nintendo did a poor presentation, even though it focused on a lot of upcoming games that are very near, which is good. Sony did a great presentation, but a lot of the games are far away or are not exclusive, which is not that great and MS did a more balanced conference, showing stuff that are coming soon but also a lot of things down the line.

Jairo_MC commented on Reaction: Sony Delivers the Greatest E3 Press ...:

I really liked the conference. It was the best of this year for sure. I didn't really watch any E3 conferences before (always get my news on the web), so I can't say it was the best of all time.
For me the highlight was definetely the announcement of FF VII remake, specially since it's only a timed exclusive.
But, even though I never played Shenmue and Team Ico's games I'm really glad that The Last Guardian was shown and that Shenmue 3 is happening. I may not want to buy a PS4 right now, but the conference delivered big.

Jairo_MC commented on Soapbox: Why So Many E3 2015 Announcements Are...:

Since I, as a kid, always opened my gifts earlier I really like these premature announcements.
I got all my E3 coverage on the internet, so it's good to be able to see something a bit sooner. And, as @get2sammyb pointed out, there is more time now to digest all the news.
Having said that, this must be the 3rd article that I read today regarding these early leaks, so I guess that a lot of people must be really bothered about it.

Jairo_MC commented on April 2015 NPD: PS4 Slumps to Shock Defeat:

@JaxonH I completely agree with everything you said. I just don't get why people obsess so much about sales and want all 3 consoles to succeed.
@sinalefa I recently got and Xobx One and didn't regret it at all. Sunset Overdrive is great and most multplats work really well. If I get a PS4, it'll probably be by the end of this gen, when Persona 6 will be released or I'll wait for PS5 and get all the remasters of PS4.
I also am trying to limit my purchases because I don't have time to play it all. The sole exception is the 3DS, where I get and play almost everything that's released.

Jairo_MC commented on Soapbox: Why You Shouldn't Be Afraid to Play B...:

Completely agree with you.

Granted, I don't have PS4 so I can say nothing about Bloodborne, but the difficulty has put me off trying the Souls series on PS3 and Dark Souls 2 on Xbox One. It just doesn't seem like something I would enjoy...

Jairo_MC commented on Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weeke...:

I have tons of plans but I will end up just playing Persona 4 Golden as I'm reaching the final months on my second playtrhough. I'll also fire up Code Name STEAM which is great after the update.
I wante to start TellTale's Game of Thrones before the premiere tomorrow, but I think it's a lost cause, as I also want to watch more of Daredevil.

Jairo_MC commented on Talking Point: What One Game Do You Always Com...:

I always go back to The World Ends With You. Once a year i replay it. Other games that I go back to are: Persona 4 Golden, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Metal Gear Solid (original and Twin Snakes) and Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII.
Some games that I go back from time to time are Super Mario World, Donkey Kong Country and Chrono Trigger.
Recently, I play some songs of Theathrythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call every week because it's very addictive and some courses from Mario Kart 8 and some stages from Bayonetta 2.

Jairo_MC commented on Review: Resident Evil: Revelations 2 (PlayStat...:

Just finished it this weekend and I loved it. The review is pretty spot on, like @Gamer83 said.
I played The Struggle too and it was great but I didn't have much patience for Little Miss...
The story got me hooked and the episode format was great being just one week apart.

Jairo_MC commented on God of War III Brings the Brand's Best Boss Fi...:

@tulaib_100 To be fair some of the games you listed haven't been relased too... Also, some of them had a disastrous release (DriveClub) or had lukewarm reception (Knack and The Order).
This generation, so far, haven't been great, but I think that MS and Nintendo are doing more in the software department while Sony has a killer marketing, which makes its system sell better.

Jairo_MC commented on Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weeke...:

I just finished Professor Layton and the Unwound Future on my DS and now I I'll dive into Majora's Mask 3D on my New 3DS.
Other than that I'm really enjoying Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood on PS3 and I plan to start either Advanced Warfare or Shadow of Mordor on Xbox One.

Jairo_MC commented on Educate Yourself with This In-Depth Guide to F...:

Didn't watch the video as I'm trying to keep my experience mostly new about everything regarding this game. I'm really excited about it as I've been waiting for it to come to the west since it was announced for the PSP...

Jairo_MC commented on Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weeke...:

Strider and Resident Evil HD on Xbox One, Professor Layton and the Unwound Future on DS and Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands on PSP
I was planning on playing Lord of Shadow 2 on PS3, but I think I'll play some more Bayonetta 2

Jairo_MC commented on Soapbox: Why We Need More Grounded Games:

Completely agree with you. Persona 4 Golden had the perfect balance between fantastic elements and a grounded story, which is why it's one of my favourite games.
The variety is good though. Some grounded games are great and some fantastical one too.

Jairo_MC commented on Persona 5 Already Sounds Like It Could Be Dark...:

Each game have a very self contained story, vut they are on the same universe. That means that sometimes there can be a cameo of some minor characters on the series. Having said that, you can choose whatever you want to play first.
My first Persona games was Persona 4 Golden, and the central theme is the pursuit of Truth. Because of that, the main story revolves around a murder case and your group of high schoolers form an investigation team. The main color of the game is yellow, possibly to convey a sense of joy that is present on the game.
After that, I played Persona 3 Portable on PSP and the central theme of that game is Death. Your group form a squad to exectue shadows. The main color is blue, as it tries to convey sadness.
I loved each game, and they are some of the best JRPGs I played. However, I think Persona 4 is better than 3, but it is a really subjective opinion. Persona 4 has a more varied dungeon design and the social links are a lot more deep than P3, which is a plus for me. Having said that, I think the ending of Persona 3 is more impactful.
If you like JRPGs you can't do wrong playing one game of this series but be warned that they are very long. It took me almost 60 hours to get to the credits of each game and I skipped a LOT of sidequests.

Jairo_MC commented on Talking Point: Are Bigger Open Worlds Really B...:

In recent memory, the only open world that I throughly enjoyed was Sunset Overdrive. I never used fast travel with that game because it was really fun getting to one point to the other.
All the other open worlds feel a bit uninteresting after a few hours and I end up not finishing them.

Jairo_MC commented on Poll: Is It Now Time for Sony to Consider a $3...:

@Godsire- I agree with you. Even though I had the PSOne, PS2, PS3, PSP and PSVita, there's nothing, right now, that tells me I need a PS4 and the way Sony just gave up on Vita has really let me down, although I know it should focus on it succes with the PS4.
