Splash Damage has announced a new update that will bring comprehensive clan, tournament and ladder support to Brink
The developer says that the update is in its final stages of testing and will release imminently on PS3. You can gorge on more specific details over at Bethesda's official website.
Brink's first dose of downloadable content, "Agents Of Change", will release on the PlayStation Network from next week
That's August 4th if you want to mark your calendars. Those who are prompt enough to download the content within its first two weeks on sale will get the upgrade free of charge. Agents Of Change includes two new environments, five new player abilities, two new outfits and two new..
Zumba Fitness is still top of the UK sales charts this week, beating out Codemasters' DiRT 3 and Activision's Transformers: Dark Of The Moon to take the top spot again. The top ten was familiar territory this month, with Top Spin 4 and Virtua Tennis 4 both taking up slots in the aftermath of Wimbledon, and favourites such as L.A. Noire, Brink and LEGO Pirates Of The Caribbean filling up the..
Bethesda's announced the first batch of Brink DLC: Agents Of Charge
It's set to go live in early July on PlayStation 3, and will be available for free for two weeks after launch. The content will include two new environments, five new player abilities, two new outfits and two new weapon attachments. Strangely, we can see ourselves jumping back into...
Despite a number of seriously scathing reviews over the weekend, Duke Nukem Forever has knocked L
A. Noire</a> off its perch at the top of the UK sales charts, scoring a number one finish for the long-in-development FPS. L.A. Noire finished up in second, while Sucker Punch's new superhero escapade finished up just behind Zumba Fitness in fourth. The game probably deserved to do better than..
A. Noire</a> has held onto the UK sales charts top spot for a second week running, beating off Codemasters' semi-sim DiRT 3 which finished up in a respectable second. LEGO Pirates Of the Caribbean, Zumba Fitness and Brink all held onto their high positions to round out the top five, with familiar faces such as Crysis 2 and Call Of Duty: Black Ops rounding out the top-ten. L.A. Noire -..
Brink has knocked Zumba Fitness [urgh - Ed] off the top of the UK sales charts this week, scoring a domestic top-spot for developer Splash Damage
The brilliant LEGO Pirates Of The Caribbean made it a one-two for new releases, finishing up in second. Of course, Zumba Fitness was still around to keep Mums happy, finishing up in third just ahead of Portal 2 and Call Of Duty: Black Ops. The other new..
If you thought Randy Pitchford was going to be the only developer to stand behind Sony over the PlayStation Network data breach then you were mistaken
Despite being adversely affected by the PSN outage, Brink developer Splash Damage has admitted feeling "sympathetic" towards Sony's predicament. "Of course for us it is frustrating to...
Let's be honest, Brink is a game all about online multiplayer
Thus it's unfortunate that the game should be releasing at a time when the PlayStation Network is still down . However, in a statement to GiantBomb, a Bethesda spokesperson said there's still plenty for PlayStation 3 fans to enjoy in Brink while the PSN is offline. "Fortunately,...
Brink looks awesome, and it's out this week
Unfortunately the biggest kicker for the game's launch is that the PlayStation Network is still not online yet. That creates a big problem because Brink is very much supposed to be played online. Grrr. It's unfortunate timing for the team at Splash Damage. We can only hope that people choose to pick up the game in good faith. After all, the PSN will be..
Brink launches on PlayStation 3 next week, and Bethesda's been kind enough to send us some stats regarding the game
Aside from the dead boring stuff like there being 60 minutes of music and 26,000 lines of dialogue, Bethesda has also decided to let us know that there are a total of 102,247,681,536,000,000 unique character possibilities. We thought you should know too.
Given that Brink is an ambitious multiplayer-centric first-person shooter with a lot of quirky features, we think it was a shrewd decision for Bethesda to employ a nice-mannered British lady to discuss the game's unique perspective of the battlefield
She can talk about our "commarrrrnd post" all she likes. Right, guys?! Right?! You can check out the rest of Brink's "Get SMART"..
Splash Damage understands
After years of moody, colourless shooters, we've become nostalgic for SEGA's famous Blue Skies. The team behind Brink feel exactly the same way, paving the way to one of the most colourful first-person shooters in years. It is time to put colours back in first person shooters, Splash Damage art boss Oliver Leonardi told IGN. Of course, by the time you finish making..
Bethesda's finally realised that the release of Rockstar's L
A. Noire</a> might put a dent in the sales of their ambitious first-person shooter, Brink. The publisher's responded by moving the game's release date forward a week to May 10th and May 13th in North America and Europe respectively. Smart move Bethesda. Plus, it's nice to see release dates move forwards instead of backwards for a..
We're not entirely sure why Brink is flying under the radar so badly
It seems to have all the core elements people want: deep but accessible competitive multiplayer, tons of unlocks, vibrant and unique art-style, loads of weapons, great online integration. On paper it looks like the perfect video game. In fact, we're convinced Splash Damage is going to knock this one out of the park, regardless of..
Any trailer -- be it for a movie or video game -- is more exciting when the sound engineers go crazy with their sub-woofers
Don't you just love those big, bassy, slow-motion muffles they do for practically every action trailer these days? Well even if you don't, Bethesda do. This Brink trailer is littered with low-frequency wobble. What's more, the game actually looks pretty amazing.
May 20th will either be one of the best days for new video game releases, or worst depending on your wallet's flexibility
Bethesda's slapped a May 20th release date (May 17th in North America) on ambitious multiplayer shooter Brink. Unfortunately, that's the same day as Rockstar's L.A. Noire. Decisions, decisions. The publisher's also put a June 3rd release date on Hunted: The Demon's Forge. Rage..
Bethesda's becoming quite the publishing power-house, as this story evidences
For those of you pre-ordering next year's "one-to-watch" new shooter IP Brink, you'll get access to an additional set of equipment from two big titles in the publisher's growing roster: Doom or Fallout. The Doom pack's exclusive to GameStop and includes armour, guns, hats and a tattoo based on id's classic..
We like a lot of what we've seen of Splash Damage's Brink, but the last thing we were expecting was an interesting narrative behind the first-person shooter
Apparently, we were very wrong to assume. It seems like the studio have gone some way towards setting up an interesting fiction. There's a utopia, floating city - the Ark. But it's over populated. Instead of housing the 5,000 people it's..
Bethesda and Splash Damage's quirky first-person shooter Brink continues to look more stylish each time we see it
This time around Kotaku's got a bunch of new screens. The game's still on track to release this Holiday. It could end up being pretty big this one folks, so stay tuned.
Never in all my years of opinionating have I been more sure of one thing: co-op is the future of online multiplayer
There'll always be a place in video games for the wrought solo escapades of a tight single-player experience, as will there always be the space for competitive multiplayer — but co-op is the future. Playing Borderlands over the...
There's one thing you can ensure if you have Killzone 2's producer working on your game: it's going to look sensational
And Brink looks unreal right now. The gameplay videos dropped after the jump show a hyper-stylised universe with some super-tight shooting. Gameplay-wise, the demo looks fairly standard fare, but that art-style is wonderful. With Brink still about a year off, you should probably..
We're not huge multiplayer gamers
We enjoy it, but we're not the type of people who can make a game's multiplayer mode last a year or two. That's just, meh. Still, there are a lot of gamers out there that don't even touch a multiplayer mode. And those are the type of people Splash Damage want to convert with their innovative FPS Brink."It's our goal from the outset to incidentally teach people..
We're going to be open right now and admit that aside from this trailer we don't have a clue what Brink is all about
We're guessing the gunshots mean there will be shooting. We're guessing from the monologue that it's going to be some kind of sci-fi game. Other than that, all we have is a release date, Spring 2010. Absolutely no doubt E3 2009 will tell us more.
