PushSquare Playstation Picks: 19th-25th October

PushSquare's Playstation Pick Of The Week: GTA: Chinatown Wars.

PushSquare's Playstation Pick Of The Week: GTA: Chinatown Wars.

Y’ello one and all, welcome to our new pick of the week column, a Monday night dive into the week’s best Playstation launches across Europe and America.

PushSquare’s Playstation Pick Of The Week: Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars [EU/USA]

Rockstar return to the PSP with the highest rated Nintendo DS game of all time. Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars may be a stepdown from the technically astounding Vice/Liberty City Stories in pure visuals, but the refined gameplay, cleverly designed missions and comical plotline are well worth the attention of any PSP owner.

Gearbox’s Borderlands launches in the EU and USA, bringing an interesting mix of RPG, cel-shading and first-person shooting. Whimsical physics based platformer Trine hits the American Playstation Network on Thursday. The unusual mix of classic fairytale and ultra-gore Fairytale Fights hits the Playstation 3 in Europe on Friday. Finally, PSP RPG Half-Minute Hero hits the American Playstation Network on Thursday.

Trine Not Hitting The US Until The End Of October

Trine Is Finally Headed To The US. At The End Of The Month.

Trine Is Finally Headed To The US. At The End Of The Month.

Nobilis Publishing and Frozenbyte can confirm that Trine will be coming to the American Playstation Store. Just not until October 22nd. Trine has already appeared on the European Playstation Store, and received a fairly positive review from this very outlet. The reason for the delay isn’t really known but, Americans should rejoice that they finally have a solid release date for the game.

Trine is a clever platformer with some stellar mechanics. Its whimsical charm is offset by some frustration late on, but only repetition and a steep price-tag can deter its overly pleasant nature.

Finally Trine Is To Venture Its Way Onto The Playstation Network This Week.

Remember Trine? Yeah, the impressive platformer that was meant to hit the Playstation Store a long time ago? Well, according to TheSixthAxis, the game is finally on its way. This Thursday to be precise!

Trine is a fantasy action / platform game where the player can create and use physics-based objects to beat hazardous puzzles and threatening enemies. Three heroes are bound to a mysterious device called the Trine in a quest to save the kingdom from evil and the player can at any time freely choose whoever is best suited for the upcoming challenge or puzzle.

Trine has full support for Trophies and also features a Platinum Trophy as the ultimate reward.

Exciting times indeed. Talk about the Winter rush, we’ve got games coming out of our ears right now!
