Activision's Confirmed New Spiderman Games Are Coming, Alongside Guitar Hero, Call Of Duty and Tony Hawk.

Activision’s confirmed during a consumer call tonight that there will be new iterations Call of Duty, Guitar Hero, Tony Hawk and Spiderman by the time 2010 is done and finished.

The Call Of Duty title in development is believed to be set in Vietnam, and is being developed by Activision’s secondary CoD team Treyarch. Robomodo confirmed they are working with Tony Hawk again for a new title in that franchise.

Very little is known about the new iterations of Spiderman and Guitar Hero, though we assume E3 will bring them in large.

Activision’s also committed to new franchises, including a Dreamworks title named “How To Train Your Dragon”.

The Next Call Of Duty Game Is Set To Draw On Influences Such As Apocalypse Now.

Treyarch’s next foray into the Call Of Duty franchise – widely rumoured to be set in Vietnam – is due for release in November, ahead of the “gifting season” according to CVG.

Their source – a “senior UK trade rep” – said Activision had told them to expect the game in the same window as Modern Warfare 2.

“Activision believes that it can own Christmas again, just as it has in the last two years.

“Development is on course – and Treyarch have been told the game must be ready to hit shelves before the gifting season,” the site’s source said.

The game’s said to focus much more on plot this time around. Meanwhile, it’s rumoured Infinity Ward are set to move on from the Call Of Duty franchise and create a new IP, which would leave Activision’s rising dev team, Sledgehammer, in charge of Call Of Duty during Treyarch’s year off.

$3 billion is a lot of money. Obviously. We’re not just writing it for the fun of it though. That’s exactly how much money the Call Of Duty franchise is now worth. Dude. The $3 billion figure has been calculated using NPD, Chart Track, GfK and internal estimates for the sales of each game in the franchise. With Modern Warfare 2 shifting $550 million in just five days, you can totally see how that’s possible.

More Call Of Duty: World At War Is On The Way!

Who is up for some more Call Of Duty: World At War maps to tide them over this slow summer? A few of you – that’s good then because there’s content coming this August.

The new maps (”Battery,” “Revolution,” and “Breach”) have been developed in conjunction with the team behind Age Of Booty, Certain Affinity. There’ll also be some new zombie hunting goodness in the form of “Der Riese”.

Anybody going to be picking this up. We assume this will probably be the last World At War pack before Modern Warfare 2 launches.

Call Of Duty: WAW's Map Pack 2 Sold One Million Copies Over Just A Weekend.

Have you heard? Call Of Duty is big news. Call Of Duty: World At War is ridiculously big news actually, having just sold over 1 million copies of its new premium DLC: Map Pack 2. The DLC, whcih we saw actually being advertised all over the place, spans the PS3 and XBOX Live versions of the game. It’s likely the new map pack will trump the milestone set by the previous map pack, which sold two million copies.

This is kinda why we worry about Modern Warfare 2 — the game doesn’t have Call Of Duty in the title. People will buy anything with Call Of Duty in the title.

Ah-hah another LinkedIn profile, another revelation. Although it’s barely a revelation in this game. Guess what? Treyarch have a new Call Of Duty in development. We’d never have guessed. We actually thought they were going to give the series a rest for a while – especially now Infinity Ward have dropped their respective releases title to just plain Modern Warfare 2.

But no. It’s in development. It’s coming. Are you excited?
