Digital Comics on Playstation Portable Hands-On Impressions.

Sony’s decision to bring comics to the Playstation Portable has always been something that’s stuck us as interesting. Interesting because we’re not entirely sure who the move is aimed at. Hardcore comic fans will surely prefer reading their superhero gossip on paper; and will casual comic readers care enough to download them to their PSP? These are questions we’re still yet to answer, but our hands-on with Digital Comics taught us one thing – the service is pretty good, whoever decides to use it.

SingStar Has Become One Of Sony's Biggest Franchises Since 2004.

Sony have just announced that their specialist karaoke franchise has now topped 20million units sold. The franchise began in 2004 and has seen numerous versions over the past 5 years, right up to the latest Take That themed release.

We expect a Michael Jackson SingStar will be on the cards for early next year, with the franchise completely free to go as specialist as it likes in the future.

Sony also announced that a patch is on the horizon to fix numerous complaints with the SingStar Store.

You Can Test Out The PSP's New Digital Comics Service For Free Right Now.

Those of you who have download firmware 6.20 for your PSP will be aware of the new “Extras” tab on the PSP’s XMB. This is a new section used to contain Sony’s upcoming Digital Comics service. The Playstation Store won’t be offering comics until next month, but Sony are eager to let fans check out the service a little early. All you need to do is hit up the Playstation Comics website and enter the provided code into the Playstation Store.

Soon You'll Be Able To Get Your SingStar On Without Fear Of Your PS3 Self Destructing.

There’s a patch headed to Sony’s karaoke title, SingStar, according to the European Playstation Blog. The patch is going through QA right now, and is due for release on December 1st. It’ll fix a ton of problems caused by Patch 4.20, like stopping the game from deleting SingStore DLC off your HDD, etc.

The price is right and the song selection is solid, thus Take That nuts will find it rather difficult to be displeased with SingStar: Take That.

If Eye Pet Was A Nintendo Wii Game, It Would Be Massive.

Eye Pet is a massive risk. It’s possible we could be playing Eight Days or The Getaway 3 this weekend. Sony pursued Eye Pet – an innovative implementation of augmented reality – instead. Given the platform, and its audience, Eight Days would probably sell better. And that shows just what a risk Eye Pet is. But could it expand the audience?

The adorable Eye Pet launched today across Europe. If you haven’t got your hands on a copy yet, maybe it’s time you seriously considered picking up the title. We gave it a 4/4 in our review a couple of weeks back, admiring the game’s sense of style, and genuinely innovative gameplay.
