Sky On Demand Will Probably End Up On The PS3 At Some Point In The Future.

Sky’s On Demand director Griff Parry reckons a Playstation 3 version of the Sky Player could be on the cards in the near future.

“I can talk generally about our desire to extend to any device that supports a good quality experience to project the content. The PS3 is clearly a device where that is possible. And so it may very well happen in the future. Having said that, we’re very happy to be working with Xbox for the time being,” said Parry.

We’re sticking by our guns, Fall 2010 folks: you’ll hear more about this.

So When’s Sky TV Coming To The Playstation 3 Then?

Microsoft's Cash Has Spoken. For Now.

Microsoft's Cash Has Spoken. For Now.

If you’re an XBOX owner in the UK, you might be aware that this morning the Sky TV service rolled out onto XBOX 360s. To be perfectly honest, we’re not quite sure how Microsoft are handling the whole service, but we assume it requires an existing Sky subscription and an XBOX Live Gold account.

Given that the service is a perk for British console owners however, many PS3 owners might be wondering when Sony will offer a similar solution. Well TechRadar asked Sky’s Stephen Nuttall just when Sky was coming to the PS3. The answer? A non-answer really.

“So we – Microsoft and Sky – are very focused on making this an enormous success this autumn and working together to deliver a great project.

“…To be honest we’re kind of neutral about how people access our content and don’t feel we should proscribe how people should be watching Sky. Our job is just to give people options.”

As with every Microsoft “exclusive”, expect to see it on the PS3 before 2010 is out.
