Shatter's Soundtrack Is Absolutely Unbelievably Amazingly Brilliantly Fucking Awesome. 'Nuff Said.

Shatter developers Sidhe sent us word last week (during what will be known as the “Great Computer Crash Of PushSquare 2009“) that they are putting the absolutely fantastic Shatter soundtrack up for sale. And no, we don’t mean half-price. We mean up for sale. For like, $1! Seriously. That’s like £0.60 in England-land.

Of course we don’t have to pay, because Sidhe already sent us a free copy, but such is the quality of this soundtrack we recommend you do pay. It’s amazing. And it can be imported into Wipeout HD. Think about it.

Sidhe Are Looking At Bringing Shatter To Alternative Platforms.

What do you mean you haven’t played Shatter yet? Are you mad!? We gave it 4/4. Get on it. So if you’re still not sure, we reckon you should probably hold out for the demo that Sidhe are preparing for you. Alas, if you’re fanboy enough to prefer your games while they’re exclusive (why?), be told that Sidhe will probably put this game out on alternative platforms.

“Shatter is not exclusive to PSN,” managing director Mario Wynands stated. “But Sony is offering the combination of good royalties, strong technology, and a well defined process for getting content to market.”

The team already have working builds of a PC and XBOX 360 version thanks to Sony’s cross platform Phyre Engine. Wynands says it’s “likely” the games will make it elsewhere. Shatter is an awesome game, and if putting the game on other platforms means Sidhe can come back to PSN with something new, we’re all for it.

Shatter Is Pretty Kick Ass By All Accounts.

Remember Battlefield 1943 becoming the most popularly downloaded PSN game ever recently? Well hats off to Sidhe (no, we still don’t know how to pronounce it – Ed), because they’re currently sitting right behind the big boys at DICE. Their fantastic block-breaker Shatter has gone on to reap the second most downloaded game of the week spot according to a Tweet sent out by the company (via PSLS).

We’re not sure exactly how many units the game pushed but we do know that if you haven’t got the game yet, you probably should.

Shatter Will Probably Take The Award For Best Video Game Soundtrack This Year.

As you’ll read in our review later today, one of the best things about Sidhe Playstation 3 exclusive, Shatter, is its soundtrack. A culmination of electro synths, rock guitar and techno arpeggiators, the entire game’s mix is a never-ending spouse of frenetic beats complimented by subtle pads and scorching leads.

Basically, it’s brilliant.
