It’s interesting isn’t it? In Red Faction Guerrilla and Mirror’s Edge you have two games that are a long way from perfect when taken alone. But the ideas that they present will be taken and improved upon by virtually every high profile release that demands them.

Red Faction Guerrilla Multiplayer Impressions.
There have been a lot of tacked-on multiplayer components in recent months. Components there to tick a box on a press release. We went into Red Faction Guerrilla’s multiplayer expecting a similar experience but came out with mild addiction. Red Faction Guerrilla’s multiplayer rocks.

Despite being set on a dull, lifeless planet – Red Faction Guerrilla succeeds by providing some of the most satisfying destruction physics we’ve ever encountered in a video game and making them an integral part of the experience.

This Guy Looks Pretty Happy With Himself Don't You Reckon?
Well, we’ll be damned. As far as crazy promotions go, this has to rank pretty highly. In order to promote Red Faction: Guerilla, THQ chained a sledgehammer to a car in London and filled it with copies of the game. Passers by were then encouraged to “smash-and-grab”.
“Because Red Faction Guerrilla features the world’s most realistic destruction engine, we thought that it would make for an interesting experiment to find out how many people, going about their everyday business, would stop in a busy city street to work out some stress by smashing their way into a car to earn a copy of the brand new game.”
Wonderful. Just wonderful.

Red Faction: Guerilla on Playstation 3 Hands-On Impressions
The thing that was instantly apparent to us upon running Red Faction: Guerilla was a sense of arcade action. The game clocks killing sprees, rewards the destruction of entire buildings and has a very fast, ebbing pace to it. Which makes it really fun.
That’s not to say it’s without it’s draws though. While the action seems fast and fluid, the graphics are weak (presumably scaled down to maintain a framerate) and the gunplay is somewhat simple, if not entirely over the top.
