This Would Probably Be More Fun If I Wasn't Looking For Medals.
I’ve been playing Sonic Unleashed this week. Don’t get all facetious, it’s not like there has been anything interesting released. I’m using the time to delve into the past Playstation games I missed. I just so happen to like Sonic. The game is fine really, nothing special, nothing terrible. Sadly though, it falls into the trap of one of my most hated video game pet hates — treasure hunting.
Sony Reckons The Playstation 3 Has A Higher Attach Rate For Blockbuster Software.
According to Sony, the Playstation 3 has a higher attach rate to blockbuster titles than the XBOX 360. While the XBOX 360 sold more copies of Street Fighter IV, Prince Of Persia and Grand Theft Auto IV, Sony claim that the attach rate was higher on PS3. In fact, when it came to Street Fighter IV, Sony posted an impressive 5.5% game-to-console ratio, with the XBOX 360 sitting at just 3.1%.
This could mean a number of things, presumably that Playstation 3 owners are more savvy to the kind of content around them, and the software that is doing well critically.
Sony also went on to suggest that a higher portion of the Playstation 3 library scores above 80 on review aggregate site, Metacritic. The Playstation had 31% of its software rated highly, compared to just 21% on XBOX 360.
Of course, all of this is simply number-spinning, but alas, it does paint a slightly more positive picture for Sony.
Ubisoft have some pretty neat Prince Of Persia artwork to give away for those who are daring enough to dress up as the Prince himself. You won’t need to perform death-defying parkour-esque stunts to win but, you may need to reveal your chest. Depending on which you find more horrifying, it looks like a competition worth entering.
If you’ve already beaten Prince Of Persia and you’re anticipating more wall-running shenanigans then, well, you sound about ready for some DLC. Ubisoft have you covered.
The DLC, which is titled “Epilogue”, unlocks a whole new underground area, some new magic abilities for Elika and develops her relationship with the Prince further.
The DLC is set to be released on February 26th on the PSN.
I’ve been sceptical about the new Prince Of Persia game because the original aside I’ve never touched the series. I’ve never even played Ubisoft’s sister title Assassin’s Creed which was meant to be all awesome because Jade Raymond worked on it or something.
Anyway, apparently the new Prince Of Persia game is meant to be really good or something because it totally reboots the franchise. In every possible way. Every possible way. Story, engine, graphics, COLOURS. Did I mention this game has colours? You know, the thing most video games are totally devoid of. C-O-L-O-U-R-S.
Anyway yeah, that and it seems to have a relatively fairytale inspired story and some nice orchestral music.
