Target Out MLB 10: The Show Playstation 3 Bundle

Hey, PS3's The Console Of Choice For Baseball Fans Don'tchaknow?

Hey, PS3's The Console Of Choice For Baseball Fans Dontchaknow?

It’s only been a couple of weeks since a Target employee last outed a special MLB 10: The Show Playstation 3 bundle. Now Joystiq’s picked up a listing for the bundle on Target’s very own website. No denying it now chaps!

The pack includes a 250GB PS3 and a copy of the MLB 10: The Show game. Makes perfect sense seeing as the PS3 can now stream live baseball games too.

The World's Best Baseball Game To Get Bundled With The Console Streaming Live MLB Games? No Brainer, Right?

An alleged Target inventory listing discovered by Joystiq seems to suggest that the Playstation 3 will be getting all bundled up with Sony’s MLB 10: The Show title. The bundle will include a copy of the game and a 250GB Playstation 3, and will release on June 13th. Joystiq’s followed up the story but been unable to confirm anything.

It would make sense though, specifically considering the recent deal Sony’s struck-up with the MLB to stream baseball games directly on the PS3 console. We’d imagine this is pretty exciting for baseball fans looking to pick a PS3. Let’s wait and see if the package is legit.

Major League Baseball Streaming Heads To Playstation 3

The New York Times report this morning that Sony is to announce a deal that will allow streaming of live Major League Baseball games directly through the PS3.

The report states that sign-ups will be under way by the end of the week for the US-only service, allowing subscribers to watch live games.

“This is more than just a game console. This is a device that is redefining how content is being delivered to the living room,” Sony’s Peter Dille said told NYT.

It’s a pretty big deal for baseball fans, as Sony’s exclusive MLB The Show franchise has long been the market leader in baseball video games. This also might start the shift of video game consoles offering television and sports content – something we expect Microsoft will have a word or two to say about at this year’s E3.

NPD March 2010: God Of War III Shifts 1.1 Million Units

Kratos' Last Hurrah Has Resulted In Victory On The US Sales Charts.

Huge success for Sony and their Santa Monica studio last month, as God Of War III went on to rule the American software charts selling a whopping 1.1 million copies in the country.

Kratos managed to oust out March’s other big releases in Battlefield: Bad Company 2 and Final Fantasy XIII, the latter of which performed better on the Playstation 3 SKU.

March was a good month for Sony, with four of the top ten games belonging to the Playstation 3, and even MLB 10: The Show getting in on the action.
