Kane & Lynch 2 Will Apply An Innovative Grain Filter That Makes The Action Look As Though It Was Shot On A Camcorder.

Square Enix has announced that their innovative camcorder-eque co-op shooter, Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days, will hit the US on August 24th. Europe will get in on the action just three days later on August 27th.

Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days aims to look like a YouTube video. In a generation where games try to outpretty each other, it’s a risky move. But we think it actually is shaping up awesome here. There’s a full set of screens on VG247.

The original may have lost Jeff Gerstmann his job [gone and forgotten, as it means we now have the superior GiantBomb - Ed], but that ain’t stopping IO Interactive announcing a sequel to Kane & Lynch. Set in the “gritty Shanghai underworld,” Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days is going to have a real innovative style, with an undercover documentary vibe going on. Sounds very interesting indeed.

The latest trailer (embedded above) looks fucking mental. And totally rad. We can’t wait to hear more.
