You'll Be Able To Play As The Chimera In Uncharted 2 As Soon As Next Week.

Remember the awesome Uncharted 2: Among Thieves DLC we told you about yesterday? Sony’s confirmed it’s coming next week, alongside a demo if you’re yet (why not!?!) to play the game.

The DLC, entitled the “Playstation Heroes Skin Pack” brings Cole and Zeke from inFamous, Nathan Hale and the Chimera from Resistance and Sev and the Helghast from Killzone 2. It’ll cost £3.99/$4.99.

Awesome: Uncharted 2 Getting Killzone/Resistance/inFamous Multiplayer Skins

Well, if there was ever a way to get me back into Uncharted 2: Among Thieves’ multiplayer component, it’d involve character skins from other games.  Which is exactly what’s going to happen according to SCEJ, as upcoming DLC will feature inFamous, Resistance and Killzone 2 skins.

Siliconera’s got some shots of the DLC, which are due in Japan net week. They also note a map pack is due on February 25th, including an area from Uncharted: Drakes Fortune, with a further pack planned for April. Awesome.

PushSquare’s Top 50 Playstation Games ‘09: #3 – inFamous

#3: inFamous on Playstation 3.

#3: inFamous on Playstation 3.

We said: “Not content with being one of this generation’s best open-world games, we’re confident in saying that inFamous is the best super-hero game ever made. While its presentation can be flawed at times, we can’t overlook the fact that by putting us in control of the electrically powered Cole, Sucker Punch have offered us the reigns to one of the most fun protagonists we’ve ever come across.”

Twiggy’s thoughts: “inFamous was a rare Playstation 3 exclusive as it wasn’t hyped to hell. In fact, right up until the week or so before the game’s release, nobody seemed to care. Then it came out. And dude… What an amazing open-world game. Look forward to the inFamous 2 trailer at this year’s E3 then, eh?”

Free DLC Heading To inFamous, Sells Over 1 Million Copies

Sucker Punch's Bad Ass Super-hero Property Is To Get Free DLC Next Week.

Sucker Punch's Bad Ass Super-hero Property Is To Get Free DLC Next Week.

Sucker Punch’s super-hero open world romp, inFamous, has now sold over a million copies in the US. That’ll be music to the ears of the small team at Sucker Punch, who are hopefully already hard at work on the follow-up.

And with the excellent sales news, comes details of a new super-power. The “Gigawatt Blades”, originally released as a preorder bonus, will launch for free on December 10th.

Oh, and Sony also announced the game has been dropped to $40 in the USA. Hurrah.

Sucker Punch Are Hiring A Network Programmer, Adding Online Support To Next Game

Could You Imagine If inFamous 2 Had A "Live" Online City, With Players Dropping In & Out?

Could You Imagine If inFamous 2 Had A "Live" Online City, With Players Dropping In & Out?

With the recent recasting of Cole McGrath, it certainly seems likely that Sucker Punch are currently working on a follow-up to their hit open-world title inFamous. Even more interesting though, is the company’s posting of a job position, which requires a network programmer who has “experience building on-line components of video games.” If Sucker Punch are making inFamous 2 and hiring a network programmer does that mean…?

inFamous Is Heading To The Cinema Too, Erm, Hurrah!

To Be Honest This Would Probably Translate Well Into A Movie.

To Be Honest This Would Probably Translate Well Into A Movie.

Alongside Nathan Drake, Sony Pictures want to bring Sucker Punch’s Cole McGrath to the big screen. In fact, they want to do it so badly they’ve already got a screenplay drafted out by Sheldon Turner. Hollywood hotshots Avi and Ari Arad are said to be producing the movie; they’re also apparently going to work on the Uncharted movie.

To be honest, inFamous could probably translate to cinema better than other video games. There are plenty of cues for action and a decent plot.

Still, we wish our video game franchises could stay video games. What next? Twisted Metal: The Movie? No, don’t get any ideas.
