Will We Finally Get To Race Shiny Cars In October?

According to a report on Italian website 4News.it, Gran Turismo 5 is coming in October. That’s according to a proclamation made by a Sony rep during last week’s GDC.

Apparently, the Sony dude also mentioned that the game will have out-of-the-box 3D support, likely to be pumped out to all PS3s as part of Firmware 3.20.

To be honest, Gran Turismo 5 release rumours are ten-a-penny, but we firmly believe it’ll get a simultaneous worldwide release later this year. October sounds about right. We imagine this game will be privy to Sony’s biggest PS3 marketing budget yet.

Gran Turismo 5 Gets A Properly Stunning Trailer, We’re Excited All Over Again

After the bitter disappointment of Gran Turismo 5’s delay, it’s taken just one trailer to get our excitement levels rampant once again. This trailer is included on God Of War III in the US, and we had a lower-resolution post of it last week. But now you can enjoy it in lovely high quality.

Watch and weep.

Gran Turismo 5 Trailer Showcases Night Racing, Looks Mind Boggling

Included on the American God Of War III disc is a new trailer for Gran Turismo 5. With the embargo set to lift on God Of War III reviews this very evening, a high-quality capture of the trailer has been posted to YouTube via PSNation.org. Guess what: it looks mind-meltingly beautiful.

The trailer features shiny cars, unbelievable lighting, and some hard hitting D&B.

Did we mention this is one of the best trailers of the year so far?

Hey Looks, Kazunori Yamauchi Is Talking About NASCAR In Gran Turismo 5

New Gran Turismo 5 Screens Are Typically Pretty (Surprise!)

These Are Cars. Driving.

Above is a picture of cars driving on a race track. They are being rendered by the unbelievably pretty Gran Turismo 5 engine. You can see more through the link at GTPlanet.

Can we have a release date now, please?

For The Love Of: SCEE Mention “Gran Turismo 5″ & “Fall Release” In The Same Sentence

We're Starting To Wonder If We'll Ever Play This Game.

We're Starting To Wonder If We'll Ever Play This Game.

Enough Sony, SCEE, Polyphony or whoever is involved with making Gran Turismo 5 take so bleeding long to come out. We were expecting it early 2009. It didn’t come. We were expecting it late 2009. It didn’t come. We were really expecting it early 2010. It ain’t coming. Now you’re talking about Fall? Really?

Yes, really. SCEE Portugal’s honcho James Armstrong has said the game is aiming for a “Fall release” though final timing has “not yet” been decided. That’s what he told GTPlanet anyway.

Honestly, we were expecting a release shortly after E3 in the middle of summer.

Is anyone else getting sick of waiting now? We know Polyphony are perfectionists, and we respect that, but at this stage we can feel our interest for Gran Turismo 5 waning. No matter how good it turns out.

Amazing Gran Turismo 5 vs. Real-Life Video

Polyphony Digital’s released a video comparison of a lap in a real car against a lap in a Gran Turismo 5 car. The results are kinda awesome. The video’s essentially a tech demo for the Data Logger Visualization, that tracks the bumps and movements a driver makes in a car.

It’s pretty awesome.
