Trine Is Finally Headed To The US. At The End Of The Month.

Nobilis Publishing and Frozenbyte can confirm that Trine will be coming to the American Playstation Store. Just not until October 22nd. Trine has already appeared on the European Playstation Store, and received a fairly positive review from this very outlet. The reason for the delay isn’t really known but, Americans should rejoice that they finally have a solid release date for the game.

Trine is a clever platformer with some stellar mechanics. Its whimsical charm is offset by some frustration late on, but only repetition and a steep price-tag can deter its overly pleasant nature.

Finally Trine Is To Venture Its Way Onto The Playstation Network This Week.

Remember Trine? Yeah, the impressive platformer that was meant to hit the Playstation Store a long time ago? Well, according to TheSixthAxis, the game is finally on its way. This Thursday to be precise!

Trine is a fantasy action / platform game where the player can create and use physics-based objects to beat hazardous puzzles and threatening enemies. Three heroes are bound to a mysterious device called the Trine in a quest to save the kingdom from evil and the player can at any time freely choose whoever is best suited for the upcoming challenge or puzzle.

Trine has full support for Trophies and also features a Platinum Trophy as the ultimate reward.

Exciting times indeed. Talk about the Winter rush, we’ve got games coming out of our ears right now!

Trine Is Stuck In Quality Assurance, Release Date Unknown

Trine May Look Beautiful But It's Still Not Out On The PSN Yet.

Remember Trine? It was meant to come out on the Playstation 3 ages ago. Still nothing, right? That’s because it’s stuck in Quality Assurance, as confirmed Frozenbyte’s CEO Lauri Hyvärinen.

“On consoles it takes weeks, even months if the game gets stuck in the technical quality testing stuff. It’s not anybody’s fault really, and it guarantees a better end product, but the time it takes can be frustrating.”

We’ve got our fingers crossed for a Trine release soon. The game got rave reviews on the PC, and we’re sure the same would happen on PS3.

Trine Is Delayed, Hitting The Playstation Network “Soon”

Trine Will Not Be Released This Week Like Promised.

Trine Will Not Be Released This Week Like Promised.

Observant readers may have noticed that today marks the last PSN update in July 2009; a period when publisher Frozenbyte confirmed that Trine would be available. Those of you who took the time to read our PSN updates article would totally know, hey, there’s no Trine coming out. Correct, the game has been delayed due to a “last minute bug”.

We wonder if that bug has anything to do with Fat Princess?

Trine has been getting glowing appraisals from all those who gave the recently released PC demo a try. However, people have questioned the game’s price, at $40 for the full PC release. We haven’t been sure how a $40 PSN download would be received. Thankfully clarification from Joystiq suggests that the PSN version of Trine will retail at just $20, exactly half-price.

Cheap as it sounds when compared to its PC counterpart though, Trine on the PSN is still rather expensive for a download game. But developers Frozenbyte say the price is totally justified:

“Trine is far from a game created by a solo hero developer (we have over 20 employees and Trine has contributions from a double amount of people) … we are very confident that we can deliver a full retail experience with Trine.”

Given the glowing reviews, we’re looking forward to giving Trine a run for its money.
