Afrika on Playstation 3 Review.
Afrika is interesting and most importantly different. Essentially a photography simulator, Afrika lacks the cohesion of ideas that could have made it a much more rewarding experience. Still, it should be acknowledged for trying so hard to do something new.

Finally We Get To Play This! We're So Stoked!
Afrika is finally out in the USA. The game hasn’t really been treated with the respect it deserves (hey, even if it’s shit, worse games get better treatment) after Sony only released the snap-em-up in Japan, despite interest from around the world. Natsume have handled the game’s port (kudos to them) and basically announced out of the blue today that the game is out in the US.
“We are very excited about Afrika’s release today. We know many PlayStation®3 owners out there have been itching to get their hands on the game,” said Hiro Maekawa, President and CEO of Natsume. “It was a real pleasure to work with Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios in bringing this title to North America.”
Given the fact we’ve been waiting for this game for what seems like forever — we got our preorder on right before making this post. We can’t wait for it to arrive. Review to follow.

Some Popular Playstation 3 Games Are Gonna Be Super Cheap In Japan.
Japan are to get a bunch of budget titles this September. Included in those titles is one of our most anticipated (don’t ask) Afrika. We so want that game. Anyway, those who are curious about the lineup of titles, hit the jump.

Want To Take Photos Like This? Better Play Afrika Then.
Thank goodness Afrika is coming out. We know it probably won’t be everyone’s cup of tea, but it something we wanted on store shelves to at the very least try for ourselves. We get really bored with the “typical” releases y’see. With Natsume releasing the game in America – no word on Europe yet – at the very least we know there’ll be an English language version of the photography game. Pricing is providing a tricky subject for Natsume however, given Afrika’s wonderful production values.
“We are not so interested in the so-called ‘value’ titles,” Yasuhiro Maekawa explained to Gamasutra. “Most of the Natsume games I’d say are about in the middle. Sort of normal retail price titles with normal graphical levels.”
“For a PlayStation 3 title, this will probably be $49.99. That’s what we’re thinking. Between $39.99 and $49.99. $59.99 is probably too much.”
There’s one thing for sure, if no European announcements are made, we’ll be importing this game.

Afrika - Now With The Rewarding Chime Of Trophies.
Speaking with Siliconera, Graham Markay – the VP of Natsume, who are publishing Sony’s Afrika in North America – has confirmed that one of the few tweaks being made to the game is trophy support. When prompted for changes he responded:
First and foremost there is going to be a trophy system, which wasn’t in the Asian release or Japanese release. There have been other suggestions from us and other parties. So, we’ve been working with Rhino Soft and Sony now to tweak it. Obviously, that’s not the final version out there so we’re trying to see what we can do to help make it a touch better.
We always expected trophies would be patched in. We’re just sick of waiting for the game to make it over here. It honestly is something we want to play. However, no word on a European release is worrying. This may be a game we have to import.

Finally Afrika May Get A Western Release.
Sony’s snap-em-up edutainment photography title Afrika has finally gotten a Western publisher in Natsume. It was thought National Geographic Games would publish the title but the game had dropped off the radar in recent months. Until today an IGN article has built our Afrika hype all over again.
There’s no release date as of yet but hopefully E3 will bring word.
