MultiVersus PS5 PS4 PlayStation

MultiVersus Season 1 has officially begun, bringing with it a balancing patch, and the tease that Black Adam and Stripe from Gremlins would be joining the fight. Well, that's not all, folks, as it appears we could see the inclusion of Beetlejuice, and the Wicked Witch of the West as well, although when is anybody's guess.

A treasure trove of voice lines has been uncovered in yesterday's MultiVersus update, which you can hear for yourself courtesy of Twitter user AisulMV.

The Wicked Witch of the West is the primary antagonist of the seminal 1939 classic film, The Wizard of Oz. We could see her commanding her flying monkeys in combat, and utilising her broomstick for mobility, and just generally cackling a lot. You know, witch stuff.

Beetlejuice is the star of the 1988 cult hit of the same name, played masterfully by Michael Keaton. His other-world abilities include teleportation, invisibility, transformation and transmutation, just to name a few, and the sky is the limit as to how he might perform in-game.

As noted by VGC, Many of Beetlejuice's lines reference the Wicked Witch of the West, lending further credence to their inclusion:

  • “I’ve teamed up with a green-skinned angel”
  • “I hear you’ve got a thing with water, me too!”
  • “Man, I always wanted one of those flying broomsticks”
  • “Ooh ooh, can I have the little dog this time? I’m hungry”
  • “Is someone going to Oz? If so, I missed that memo.”
  • “Those monkeys aren’t housetrained are they? Haha, I like that.”
  • “I’m melting, MELTING!, Oh wait, that’s your line”
  • “Not time to hit that Yellow Brick Road yet”
  • “Couldn’t you send some of those monkeys my way?”

The Wicked Witch's inclusion doesn't come as a huge surprise, appearing on a previously leaked list of potential characters coming to the game, but Beetlejuice could be a really cool inclusion.

What do you think of the current lineup in MultiVersus? How do you feel about the inclusion of the Wicked Witch, and Beetlejuice? Fly (my pretties) into the comments section below.
