The sequel to retro-style PlayStation 4 and PS Vita adventure game 2064: Read Only Memories will investigate PS5 and PS4 this year, developer Midboss has announced. While already planned for release on Sony’s last-gen console, the studio has added the company’s next-gen system to the mix, as Read Only Memories: NEURODIVER plots a return to Neo-San Francisco.
“Take on the role of ES88, a telepath with the ability to delve into memories employed by MINERVA, a powerful organization specializing in neurotechnology and extrasensory projection phenomena,” the blurb reads. “Tasked with tracking down the Golden Butterfly, a naturally gifted psychic on the loose and wreaking havoc through the subconscious minds of Neo-San Francisco, by using the Neurodiver to search the memories in which it hides.”
There’s an older teaser trailer embedded above which should give you a taste of what to expect. The developer’s promising an “updated dynamic and colourful art style” in addition to original “retro-inspired FM music by Scarlett Moon artist Coda”. It’s probably not going to appeal to all tastes this one, but there is a demo on Steam and the Epic Games Store if you want to give it a spin.

I quite liked the first one so this could be good if the puzzles are a wee bit better. With both this and the VA-11 HALL-A sequel due out at some point in the future, who needs any other certain Cyberpunk games?
Wow that came out of nowhere! The first one was a great little game with a very good ambiance, and playing it on Vita was a joy.
First game was enjoyable, and i liked the links to VA11 HALL-A. A game breaking bug did corrupt my save file which stopped me getting the platinum though. Grr.
I'll keep an eye on this.
@nessisonett I keep forgetting cyberpunk exists, then see the latest update didn’t fix the thing, then go back to stardew valley.
One guy had better quality control than an entire corporation.
I've still got this on my Vita. Loved it.
