Far Cry 6 PS5

Ubisoft recently announced that it will be hosting its own digital showcase next month in replacement of E3 2020, named Ubisoft Forward. Amongst the likes of Assassin's Creed Valhalla and Watch Dogs Legion gameplay, the French publisher will also be announcing new next-gen games, and there's a good chance that one of them will be Far Cry 6. After Bloomberg's Jason Schreier shared word on the sixth iteration a few months back, a new rumour claims that it'll be revealed in July.

This comes from German site Game Reactor, translated by Tweak Town. In an article which shares a number of proposed leaks, Far Cry 6 is said to launch before April 2021 for PlayStation 5 and deviates away from the North American setting of Far Cry 5. The game will be officially unveiled at Ubisoft Forward on 12th July 2020.

This makes a lot of sense to us, especially so when you factor in the fact that Schreier has already spilled the beans on the project. We suppose the real talking point is the game's setting, which the site claims will satisfy those who didn't enjoy the fictional Hope County. Ubisoft Forward is only just a month away now so it won't be too long before Far Cry 6 is reportedly set to unveil itself. If it really is a thing, it'll need to make some drastic changes to differentiate itself from the rest of the series. We're not sure if we can sign up for another Far Cry game that uses the same set of mechanics and systems. Come on Ubisoft, let's get a bit of innovation.
