Today sees the long-awaited launch of The Last of Us: Part II. After delays and drama, the game has finally released on PlayStation 4, and it's cause for celebration. Media Molecule has taken the opportunity to congratulate fellow PlayStation Studios developer Naughty Dog in the only way it knows how -- with Dreams.
Media Molecule's art director, Kareem Ettouney, has paid tribute to The Last of Us 2 with a wonderful creation. Painted and animated using Dreams' toolset, the below shows a melancholy Ellie playing a sombre tune on her guitar.
Lovely, isn't it?
As is tradition nowadays, we would fully expect other first party teams to similarly congratulate Naughty Dog over the course of today. Are you playing The Last of Us 2 today? If you are, be sure to check out our full The Last of Us 2 guide, and get ready for pain in the comments section below.

Review bombing on Metacritic is crazy, 3.3/10 after 3184 ratings ! Ouch :/
@Cornaboyzzz It doesn't really matter. The only people who trust user reviews are those who just want to confirm their bias. Everyone else knows better than to pay any attention to them.
Let them hate.
@naruball this was to be expected with this game
Can't wait to see Santa Monica's tribute; theirs are always my favorite.
Haunting and beautiful. Well done media molecule
Gorgeously done
That's awesome, and always nice to see other developers do this!
Side note, the Disintegration ad that is currently running is making articles incredibly tedious to read on mobile, gets stuck because it thinks you're trying to scroll through the bits on the ad itself, and even cuts in to the text at the top of this article. For me, the article starts "the game has finally released". Any chance you could look at this?
@Crimson_Ridley Why not use an adblocker? On Android you can't with Chrome but you can use the Brave browser, a modified Firefox with built-in adblocking.
