Now that we've got the confusion over what Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales exactly is out of the way, it's time to fully look forward to the standalone superhero adventure coming to PlayStation 5 this year. After the announcement last week, developer Insomniac Games has taken the chance to reflect on the reaction with a new video which brings some new details to the table.

As described over on the PlayStation Blog, this is a "full story arc" centred around Miles that takes place one year after Marvel's Spider-Man. "Marvel’s New York is covered in snow, and just before Christmas break, a war between an energy corporation and a high-tech criminal army has broken out. Miles’s new home in Harlem is at the heart of the battle." This new instalment will feature a fresh story, more set-pieces, new villains, and unique quests. Brian Horton, creative director at Insomniac Games, even makes the comparison to Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. This means that the PS5 game will be a fairly meaty experience.

It'll also take full advantage of the new features Sony has begun touting. Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales will include near-instant loading, ray-tracing, 3D audio, and improved 4D scans of its characters. A lot of the city's assets have also been updated to utilise the power of the PS5.
