As you may have expected, Guerrilla Collective has joined countless other events with a delay. The show was originally scheduled to take place this weekend, from 6th to 8th June, but that's no longer the case.
The indie games showcase, which is to be hosted by Kinda Funny's Greg Miller, released a statement on social media today addressing the situation.
As stated above, Guerrilla Collective will now be carried out between the 13th and 15th June, postponing for a week in support of the Black Lives Matter movement. Additionally, a livestream on the 7th June is going ahead, which will "highlight black voices in our industry, dedicated exclusively to showcasing games created by black developers, titles featuring black protagonists, and conversations with these creators".
It follows the postponement of other upcoming video game events, such as Future Games Show and Sony's anticipated PS5 games reveal.

I like this approach a lot! They're using their platform to elevate black voices and I genuinely appreciate it. I'll even forgive the cliché white letters on black background png.
I've seen so many of these, but this is the first one I've seen that puts black creators in the spotlight.
I've said before that I think that the only way to end racism, or any kind of discrimination is if we start treating everyone equally and stop labeling people based on what they look like or where they come from. So whilst the sentiment of this message is good, I don't think I agree with it.
Good. I'm as excited as anyone for new games etc. but there needs to be less voices out there competing for attention while this is going down.
Nice.i respect that.racism is everywhere.and the video games industry is doing a amazing with spreading theyre voices and action to this matter.word up son
Great to read there will be no more racism from the 13th June and we can get back to normal 👍
No more new entertainment until racism is stamped out, I'm onboard with it!
@Constable_What
Not sure if you're aware of this but white letters on a dark background isn't meant as a racial statement. It has always been done to enable partially sighted people to read text more clearly.
They used to use yellow on dark backgrounds but in the days of LED and OLED white is brighter and hence easier to see.
I also hope you do not mistake this comment in any way as racial or derogatory, just pointing this out.
Kind regards, friend.
So ps5 event on June 12th sounds just right. 😛
I was looking through my entire PS4 collection the other day and it's actually quite astonishing how so few star a black protagonist. The only ones I had were Dishonored: Death of the Outsider, Telltales The Walking Dead, Mafia 3 and Detroit Become Human
All lives matter. Stop constantly creating victims and dividing people by race. Oh wait, it is a big election year in America. Miraculously though, Covid-19 alarmists are no longer saying "you are going to kill Grandma" if you gather in large groups of people!
@Ryno Not only that, but people have become so radicalized overnight that everything you do is considered racist now. If you’re silent about it, you’re racist. If you don’t agree with everything the mob agrees on, you’re racist. Don’t support the violent riots, you’re racist. If you say not all cops are bad, you’re labeled a cop sympathizer and a racist. Family members and friends are turning on each other over here and it’s gotten wayyyyy out of hand. I don’t condone the police violence, or the violence that some of the protestors are exhibiting, but I’ll probably be told I don’t get it and that I’m a racist so.... whatever. I donated to Black Lives Matter, but I’m probably a racist to them because I’m not out there protesting with the mobs.
@JesWood13 Good points, you are a "racist" unless you submit, get on your knee, virtue signal, etc., etc.... No one condones Police violence. After reading the mission of the "Black Lives Matter" website, it is clear to see that it is just another Far Left organization. that only cares about creating victims and getting votes for Democrats.
@Ryno Black people aren't saying other lives don't matter. We're just trying to get people to see that we matter too. It's not a statement of exclusion, but one of focus. There are Countless times when people call the cops for no reason, or that we just get treated differently as a whole. Theres even a video of a woman threatening to call the police and tell them that "there's a black guy threatening my life" when all he did was tell her to put a leash on her dog...or other instances when Blacks get blocked from entering their houses because "they can't possibly live in a nice area". Hell, in high school, my girlfriend and I broke up because her mom was tripping out that she was dating a black guy, and kept bothering her about it. Of course All lives matter. We aren't saying otherwise, but there's no denying blacks get treated like crap because of how we're viewd, or simply just for being black. I've even had Police Officers straight up admit to me that they're often called to check out "suspicious African American Men". We just want it to stop, man.
@Constable_What I hate to bring to you bad news, but this does nothing positive for the black community. REAL BLACK VOICES will only REAL BLACK VOICES when we actually trying to start solving the problem of black on black violence. It's so bad in many black neighborhoods that you can't get tree cutters, plumbers, or even pizza delivery for fear of being shot, robbed and possibly executed. Successful black youth in black schools get teased, bullied, beat up and get caught Uncle Tom n****rs just because they want a better life. So until we can discuss black on black violence, don't you dare say anything about black voices.
BTW, if you actually knew about the black community, it has been controlled by rich white billionaires for the past 60 years.
Unless you have lived in the hood, don't ever talk about black voices. If you ever seen what police have to deal with on a daily basis or the type of gruesome scenes or the violence they witness every day, don't say s**t about police. My nephew had Oreo cookies and had his arm broken because he was a near straight "A" black student in a all black school.
The fact is ALL LIVES MATTER. If you really want a real cause, look at what the Union Civil War Heroes did during the Indian War... They practiced racial extermination, destroyed Indian culture, slaughtered millions of buffalo, forced them to live in inhospitable lands where crops can't be grown or ranches can't be located...
Really, stop trying to kiss everyone butt, especially when the movement is well funded by white billionaires.
@cashflowx I don't know who you think you're talking to like that, but you shouldn't assume things about people you don't know anything about.
How can you say this doesn't do anything when it's spotlighting black creators trying to make it? That is definitely something, that's a big opportunity, that maybe people wouldn't have paid much attention to had they not set aside a time specifically for it.
I'm sorry your nephew got his arm broken. You should get off your ass and talk to your family about changing his school, or making his life better so he doesn't have to deal with that instead of using his story as some kind of justification for your outrage.
My grandparents, we came from a very poor Hispanic community, sacrificed almost everything to give their children, and by extension their grandchildren a better life.
Black on black violence? Maybe, there's brown on brown, and white on white too.
Ignorant people with resentment, like to pull people down when they're trying make it, and it doesn't matter what color you are. It happens when you live in a community that does you wrong, and pulls you down.
It's like a bucket of crabs, and none of them want to leave they just want to pull other crabs down.
So stop being a crab. Get out of the bucket. Make something you can proud of.
This is a human issue. All lives do matter, but right now much of the black community feels like they don't matter at all, so instead of pulling them down, we should give them a hand up, and be human instead of crabs.
I used to live in a mixed neighborhood (Hispanics and blacks) and the racism in that neighborhood was terrible. Blacks and Hispanics there hated each other, and they'd steal and beat each other up for no other reason than the color of their skin. I moved to better side of town with a gate, and I've never looked back.
Why don't you so something for your family instead of waiting for something to happen, or expecting other people to change what they're doing? Don't criticize me for liking that other communities (the development community) is lifting parts of it up, during this time.
It's a great time to do so.
@GADG3Tx87 I was making a joke.
I don't want us to devolve into bashing other people, and protests. But I understand the need to protest but they don't even have a clear and United goal, some are fighting police brutality, others racism, and others because they feel guilty for something they had no control over, yet are being hated for.
Yup. Looks like Guerilla Collective is now on my list companies not to support. Anyone that supports or defend Black Lives Matter is a traitor. Guerilla Collective Go Woke, Go Broke!
