Things are getting leaky all of a sudden. First, an image from EA's UFC 4 leaked online, and now it looks as though we have our first glimpse at the next instalment in the Call of Duty franchise. Rumours have been flying that the game is either a "gritty reboot" or a game set during the Cold War, but it seems certain that the Black Ops subtitle will make a return.
If we're to believe this leaked image, the game will simply be named Call of Duty: Black Ops.
This falls in line with last year's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, which similarly vetoed numbers in favour of simplicity. Interestingly, Eurogamer reported the game would be named Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. It's possible the title was simplified, or that rumour was false in the first place. We're still no closer to knowing whether this is a reboot or a Cold War story, but this image looks real to us.
It's hardly a surprise, given the aforementioned rumours. Presumably, it won't be much longer before we learn more about this year's Call of Duty -- the PS5 games event is a safe bet.

I highly doubt it will be called just Black Ops as that will only confuse people as there is already a Blacks Ops. And before anyone says anything about Modern Warfare 2019 it was a different name. Then Call of Duty 4:. Modern Warfare.

I have fond memories of "dolphin diving" thru upper story windows to kill people on the ground below, and other wacky/dumb plays relived in the game's theatre mode!
I'm hoping for dolphin diving to make a return, and the various weird gadgets from BLOPS 2 thru 4 (Cold War experimental weapons?) to set this apart from MW. I heard this will be indirectly cross-play with MW thru Warzone, so that's a big concern (like if they added dolphin diving, how would Warzone handle that? Some operators dolphin dive and others slide?).
Are they going to bother making a proper shooter with a single player campaign this time? Or are we just doomed to more multiplayer only dross? If so another ignore for me.
@keihtg warzone and whatever black ops battle royale will have wont be the same as they are made by different people, if anything it will be blackout from black ops4 that will be on black ops 2020.
@hoffa007 I know there are different dev teams, but IW said this:

@keihtg ah ok I didnt see that so i stand corrected.
I don't bother with COD on launch anymore as I play less and less MP so tend to pick them up when the price drops (which takes forever) but if the story is rated well and Zombies is good I might dip in sooner!
