Predator: Hunting Grounds isn't a very good game, but at least developer Illfonic is tackling its DLC in the right way. Arnold Schwarzenegger's Dutch will be returning to the franchise as a new playable character on 26th May alongside a set of collectible tapes voiced by the man himself. They piece together what the solider has been doing since 1987 and will be delivered as a free content drop. You'll need to pay to play as Dutch, however.
As detailed on the PlayStation Blog, purchasing this first pack will also net you early access to Dutch's knife and the QR5 "Hammerhead" Rifle. But that's not all. Illfonic has committed to at least another three pieces of DLC, which will be released in June, July, and August.
Jared Gerritzen, chief creative officer at Illfonic, didn't disclose what these future updates will contain. However, he did say that Predator: Hunting Grounds will receive "both free updates and paid DLC coming in the months ahead that will keep you on your toes in the hunt and continue to make the game exciting for everyone". Hopefully, this does enough to flesh the game out beyond its barebones offerings at the time of writing.

It's mad that Mortal Kombat 11 couldn't get Arnie for The Terminator but Predator Hunting Grounds did. That's Sony's money I guess.
Imagine making a Predator game with very little content and then selling the star of the film on top of that. It's great they've got him to do it but surely this should be part of the game already. Does this mean Carl Weathers and Danny Glover will be added too?
@carlos82 I was wondering when/if they were gonna add "real" characters, and I feel like they shoulda done this from the start! Carl Weathers, Jesse Ventura...and speaking of Danny Glover, that opens up the possibility of having an Predator 2-style city level!
Despite all of this, it doesn't change the fact that pretty all of the matches I've played involve the Predator coming down at some point and getting absolutely annihilated by the humans, then self-destructing. Is this how it's always supposed to go....?
@keihtg its probably just because its difficult to get any real practice as the Predator so most are rubbish as it, that and maybe have some objectives that split the humans up a bit more
If people like this then maybe they'll "stick around."
This game is atrocious.
No amount of DLC is going to save it, even with the awesome Arnie being available.
Absolute dross.
He says “I have a plan!” or 0/10.
Kudos to them for continuing to supporte the game. I see potential in this one and I hope that it gets better. It's just a shame that it was released with barebones content and matchmaking issues. Still wasn't as bad as how Friday the 13th launched but I digress. My only worry with this game is that, since this is a Sony published game, I'm worried that at some point they'll shut down the servers, though I hope I'm wrong.
"If it has bugs, then we can fix it"
@AdamNovice A big difference is MK11 requires tons and tons of dialogue for all the interactions and unique interactions between characters, i doubt Arnie is cheap and would have cost too much for all that dialogue they will need and would need for future characters (unlike Injustice 2 what was affected by the voice actors strike dialogue is added for DLC character interactions so when The Terminator faces Robocop they will have unique exchanges). This game seems to just be some audio logs and a few lines added when playing as Dutch, not cheap sure but way cheaper then it would be for MK11.
@WallyWest That's a good point actually, I forget about the added dialogue post release.
