The Last Of Us Part 2 Trailer

Perhaps we should have seen this coming, but it's still strange to see PlayStation disable all viewer interaction on its new trailer for The Last of Us: Part II. On both the official PlayStation and PlayStation Europe YouTube channels, the new video hides the likes and dislikes bar, while also turning off the comments section.

The move is clearly a reaction to the tidal wave of negativity currently sweeping over the game and Naughty Dog, its developer. Following substantial story-based leaks, the project has been slammed by those unhappy with how the game supposedly plays out. Spoilers have flooded the internet to the point where the situation is out of control.

Director Neil Druckmann said he was "heartbroken" by the leaks, and Sony has since stated that the leaks did not come from anyone associated with the company or Naughty Dog. However, that didn't save Druckmann's message about the game going gold from being disliked to heck and back. The video currently sits at 22,000 likes and 66,000 dislikes, and comments are disabled. It's no wonder Sony has taken additional action with this latest trailer, then.

It's a disastrous situation all round, but at least we're closing in on the release date. Hopefully The Last of Us: Part II turns out to be something special, even after all of the controversy.
