Every so often, an independent title comes along and truly knocks our socks off. Recent examples of that include Valfaris and Return of the Obra Dinn, and the next PlayStation 4 game you can add to that list is Lake. From Dutch developer Gamious, this tranquil experience is confirmed to be coming to Sony's current-gen console at some point in the future and we can't wait to play it for ourselves.

As the gameplay overview trailer above describes, you find yourself in the shoes of Meredith Weiss as she takes a break from her career to deliver mail in her hometown. It sounds like a game heavily focused around interacting with the townsfolk of Providence Oaks, learning of the stories they have to tell and getting back in touch with old friends. A laid-back title indeed that doesn't sound like it'll hold back any punches in terms of the themes it tackles, going as far as letting you engage in romance and preventing the construction of questionable apartment complexes.

The core gameplay loop revolves around delivering mail, however, as you go from house to house posting the letters and packages residents are expecting. We love the easygoing nature of Lake as well as its art style and cannot wait for it to arrive on PS4. What do you make of the game? Do you enjoy its laid-back approach to gameplay?
