Ever since E3 2020 was cancelled, a number of major websites providing video game coverage have announced plans to pick up the slack and provide a digital platform for developers to announce their new games and reveal more information. It's great to see that these announcements won't go to waste, but the whole situation is already feeling a little too exhausting. That's because GameSpot has now revealed that it will also be debuting a digital event this June alongside the likes of IGN and GamesRadar.

Over on the site, GameSpot describes its Play For All event as a "multi-week event that will deliver the biggest summer gaming news, previews, interviews, and more to a global audience." The team will also raise funds to help combat the coronavirus pandemic. Gamespot has shared a list of the partners the online event will include, those being Bethesda, CD Projekt Red, Deep Silver, Devolver Digital, Larian Studios, Google Stadia, Bandai Namco, Private Division, Square Enix, SEGA, and 2K Games.

It's a very healthy list, but we're already beginning to spot problems. Is this list of publishers not incredibly similar to IGN's Summer of Gaming event? Yes, it is. It is becoming clear that sites will be fighting for exclusive coverage over one another, potentially muddying the waters.

Maybe we're being too pessimistic, but we can't say we're thrilled by these sorts of announcements at the moment. How do you react? Let us know in the comments below.
