The answer is yes... And no. Persona 5 Royal does block the share button, but only very late into the game — around the time when the new semester begins. This means that the majority of the game — all of the stuff that was already in Persona 5 — is screenshot and video friendly.
It's not perfect, but it's a definite improvement over the original release of Persona 5.

So it's much the same as with Catherine, then.
you know it's no wonder that the PS4 streaming function never really took off, why bother streaming when half the time it's blocked
i understand not wanting people to spread spoilers but most will just use a capture device instead so it doesn't stop anything so they could at least patch it out after 6 months or a year, like Square did with Kingdom Hearts
Well, it's better than the original game.
There were so many moments in P5 that I wanted to screenshot or record a small 15-20 second part but couldn't.
Had to resort to taking pics of the TV with my phone.
