With the AAA space all but abandoning the horror genre outside of Capcom, it has been left to indies to pick up the pieces. They are doing a great job, however, with the likes of Outlast and SOMA lighting up the PlayStation 4 generation in recent years. Someday You'll Return looks set to be another independent title to add to that list as a new trailer confirms that it'll be coming to PS4 at some point later this year.

You can get to grips with what CBE Software is bringing to Sony's current-gen console through two minutes of footage above, while the story itself is said to tell a tale of fatherhood, lies, and the refusal to accept one's past. "You play Daniel, father of Stela, your runaway daughter. While trying to find her, you're forced by events to return to a place that you swore never return to, the ancient Moravian forests."

This appears to be much more than just a walking simulator, however. As you explore the scenic landscape of the Czech Republic, you must craft items, interact with your smartphone, climb cliff faces, and even take part in a bit of Herbology. Your actions are said to influence the game's ending, making for an experience that is wholly your own.

It's releasing on PC this April, although we'll have to wait longer than that for the PS4 version. Are you interested in Someday You'll Return? Search for your daughter in the comments below.
