We happened to really enjoy My Time at Portia when it arrived on PlayStation 4 last year, calling it a "delightful post-apocalyptic life sim" in the 8/10 Push Square review. The game was brimming with colour and positivity, but developer Pathea Games' next title, Ever Forward, appears to take the studio in a completely different direction. Check out the announcement trailer above for more context.

It too features a lovely art style, however, the PS4 game arriving in May is all about puzzle-solving. "Maya is lost in a strange world somewhere between reality and imagination. She is alone to confront her despair on her journey of discovery, where she must unlock her memories and confront her fears to unravel the secrets of the world."

The Chinese developer has been working on Ever Forward for three years now as it comes with numerous ways of solving a single puzzle while teleportation and the ability to control gravity help you get about the world with ease. It certainly looks like a pleasant experience and one we'll be keeping our eye on as May 2020 draws closer.

What do you make of Ever Forward? Were you hoping that Pathea Games would make a follow-up to My Time at Portia? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
