Left Alive

You can't have it all, can you? 2019 played host to numerous excellent PlayStation 4 games, all of which you can find in our set of Game of the Year features, but then some titles fall on the opposite end of the spectrum. Metacritic has put together a list of the previous year's worst-reviewed games, and it doesn't make pretty reading for PS4 with eight of the 10 experiences listed appearing on Sony's console.

The top 10 list is as follows:

  1. Eternity: The Last Unicorn (PS4) - 36 Metacritic rating
  2. Left Alive (PS4) - 37 Metacritic rating
  3. Blades of Time (Switch) - 38 Metacritic rating
  4. Contra: Rogue Corps (Switch) - 40 Metacritic rating
  5. Dollhouse (PS4) - 41 Metacritic rating
  6. WWE 2K20 (PS4) - 43 Metacritic rating
  7. FIFA 20: Legacy Edition (Switch) - 43 Metacritic rating
  8. Submersed (PS4) - 44 Metacritic rating
  9. Generation Zero (PS4) - 45 Metacritic rating
  10. Narcos: Rise of the Cartels (PC) - 46 Metacritic rating

It's probably not the list of games you'd recommend a PlayStation newcomer to pay any attention to, but we have to admit that we haven't even heard of a couple of these titles. Eternity: The Last Unicorn? Submersed? There's probably a reason they haven't been brought to our attention. We can absolutely agree with the inclusion of Left Alive, however. WWE 2K20 will down as one of the most hilarious video game launches ever, while we didn't think Contra: Rogue Corps was quite as bad as everyone was making it out to be.

Although, there is a story behind every game featured on this top 10 list. Do you agree with it? Share your ranking in the comments below.
