Ever wished you could summon a tiger before pulling the trigger in FIFA 20 on the PlayStation 4? We’d probably win more matches of Ultimate Team online if we could, but EA Sports’ soccer sim prefers to keep proceedings a little more, shall we say, grounded. Captain Tsubasa: Rise of Champions doesn’t care much for realism, though – and it’s coming this year, courtesy of Bandai Namco.

“Take on a new challenge with the rising stars of a manga masterpiece,” the official blurb reads. Details are in short supply, but it sounds like you should expect an “arcade football game” with “up-to-date graphics”. It’s been over 10 years since the last Captain Tsubasa title on the PlayStation 2, so it’s good to see Bamco’s anime factory in full steam once more.
