Eek! This is a rumour that gets this particular scribe rather excited. A Plague Tale: Innocence is one of 2019's most underrated games, but that didn't stop people from going out and buying it -- the game and RPG GreedFall increased publisher Focus Home Interactive's revenue by 80%. It's no wonder then that a sequel is supposedly in the works.
Initially reported by Xbox Squad and then picked up by Eurogamer, the title is said to be planned for launch at some point in 2022, making it a PlayStation 5 game. When contacted for comment, the AA publishing heavyweight said: "Of course, we announced last year we are partnering with Asobo for a future project but never confirmed if it was a sequel to A Plague Tale or not - and will give more details on that title when the right time comes."
Xbox Squad claims that Focus Home Interactive's COO confirmed the details and that the game is planned to be officially unveiled next year, but we're highly doubtful of that. A reveal in 2021 sounds a bit more realistic if the game really is in development, however, as we can't imagine Asobo Studio will want to string its fans on for too long.
Do you hope A Plague Tale 2 is actually in development? Fend off the rats in the comments below.

This would be huge for me!
Loved the first game, really great to see this having sold well.
Im currently on chapter 8 i think and cant put it down. I put death stranding and shenmue 3 on the back burner for this game. That's how quick the hooks sunk in. Just a master class in dialogue and storytelling. Whole world just feels oppressive and brutal. Loving every minute
This game is awesome. Seriously, if you're on the fence, take the jump and buy it. What a great story and the puzzle gameplay was very cool without being obnoxious.
One of the best game ever made.word up son
Just finished the first game 2 weeks ago and really enjoyed it. Fingers crossed the sequel is just as good as the first installment.
I've always been interested in this game. If I can clear my backlog before spring (when work really goes back in to full swing) I might pick this up. The first game I mean!
The original game was absolutely fantastic!Wasn't expecting a sequel but if this is true I'll be thrilled..definitely a Day One worthy game.
Yess this is great news if its true. Absolutely LOVED this game , very good and emotional story and decent enough gameplay to keep things going. I'm currently playing greedfall and I'm LOVING it even more. I got surge 2 on my backlog so focus home is my personal publisher of the year, great to know that their single player story games are selling well
It's on sale at the mo and all these positive comments are tempting me to buy it.
It was good, not amazing. I don't think it really needs a sequel but I'd probably still be interested.
