The latest patch for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is available to download now on PlayStation 4. While the notes for update 1.04 aren't especially exciting, it's clear that developer Respawn Entertainment wants to keep improving the overall experience. This time, it's setting out to squash a number of pesky bugs.
Having your progression halted by annoying issues is always a pain, and unfortunately for Fallen Order, the game does have a tendency to glitch out every now and then. In fact, its bugs were pretty much our only real point of criticism when we reviewed the release.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 1.04 Patch Notes
- There was an issue that would sometimes cause BD-1 to turn invisible after completing Bogano. This has been fixed and everyone’s favourite droid will now be visible.
- The Force bar has had its colour switched, making it easier to read.
- You will no longer be able to glitch through a wall on Ilum.
- An issue that caused the Spire of Miktrull from being raised has been fixed.
- A missing bridge on Dathomir has been located, no longer blocking game progress.
- Spheres can no longer get stuck in the wall within the Tomb of Eilram.
- An issue preventing players from leaving the tomb on Dathomir has been addressed.
- Fixed an issue that was preventing players from completing the Force Push tutorial.
- Players can no longer bypass a specific area on Dathomir that requires double jump.
- BD-1 will no longer disappear during a later section of the game.
- Talking to BD-1 during the AT-AT scene on Kashyyyk will no longer break the scene.
- There was an issue which prevented players from locating the double bladed lightsaber on Dathomir, this has been addressed.
- Improved collision on Bogano.
- Improved collision on Ilum.
- Fixed an issue which would cause the player to die at the same time as another [spoiler] character.
- Fixed an issue which would cause parts of the level to become affected by lightsaber throws during one of the fights with [spoiler].
- Fixed an issue where players could become stuck on Dathomir after defeating [spoiler].
- Fixed an issue from occurring where a character would not appear on Dathomir, and thus preventing players from progressing.
- An issue preventing players from completing a sphere puzzle on Zeffo has been addressed.
It's a worthwhile update, then, but are you still playing Fallen Order? Are there any other problems that you'd patch? Don't forget to make lightsaber sounds in the comments section below.

@JoeBlogs Whilst I haven't encountered any issues with BD-1, I have seen footage of him getting confused in areas where there's a panel to overcharge, a crate to slice and a new enemy to scan. He just ends up doing none of it, bless him!
Managed to finish the game, but the amount of bugs really put me off near the end. Had the final boss locked in a permanent T-pose after a few deaths and a bunch of combats where the enemies spawned in late. Not a great showing for a pretty nice game.
@JoeBlogs Ah, the old "you want to go home and rethink your life" approach to combat, eh...?!
Can't say that I've noticed that so much, but I have noticed some enemy types hanging back for a bit, or pausing for a long while between spotting me and rushing forward. Tends to be the humanoids, not the wild animals, so yeah, I just put it down to folks being nervous around my oversized glowstick.
There was a terrible glitch I got after fighting a purge trooper after a cutscene on Kashyyyk.
The door behind me closed, the camera zoomed out behind the door, and was stuck there.
I couldn't see, but I could still move and attack.
Needless to say I died, but it was fixed after respawning. Still kind of annoying.
I occasionally have awful lip sync issues on cutscenes and because they're so well done, it totally ruins it. I also had the bug where no bounty hunters would appear so I've had to start another playthrough to get the last two trophies of scan all bounty hunters and scan all enemy types. I don't mind though because the game is ace.
Is there a patch to fix Cere's terrifying bulging eyes? They remind me of an oxygen starved Arnie on Mars from Total Recall.
So do people recommend this at full price or wait a bit until it’s cheaper?
@nessisonett If you're a huge Star Wars fan (particularly of The Clone Wars and Rebels) then yes, it's worth every penny.
If you're just looking for a solid single player adventure game, however, then maybe waiting to see if you can shave a tenner off the price wouldn't be the worst thing. I snagged the platinum at just under thirty hours; there's a couple of neat touches post-story, and some of the trophies are cute, but once you've seen everything the replay incentive is a little low.
Depends on what you consider good gaming value, I guess!
@ApostateMage I was watching some of the behind-the-scenes documentaries that came with the Deluxe Edition, and can assure you that Cere is an accurate representation of Debra Wilson, her mo-cap and voice performer. Her eyes are so striking!
I’ve had the game crash on me, and I had a moment on Kashyyk in an AT-AT where the graphics were glitching and I wasn’t able to open a door (to the cockpit) so had to quit the game and reload. Hopefully I won’t have any further issues 🤞
One of the above patch notes is quite funny, where it says “a missing bridge on Dathomir has been located”. Like the devs are sitting around wondering “where did we put that bridge?” 😉
@RogerRoger She did a great job. All the Mantis crew did, such a likeable bunch.
Textures popping in and out a real put off for me. Stopped playing it after one sitting. like the game though so will play again after a few more updates for a better experience. 👍🏻
@LN78 The connections to The Clone Wars and Rebels are there for those who want to see them; don't worry, everything relevant to the new story and characters is explained in full, without any heavy exposition (most of the nods are restrained to the databank's background lore entries). There are more blatant connections to the prequels, specifically Episode III - Revenge of the Sith, but they're quite minor parts of a much larger, more original tale. You might doubt this assertion coming from me (and rightly so, we have wildly different opinions!) but it all makes for some very good Star Wars.
Having said that, the game still needs a couple more stability and performance patches, and there's still no sign of Photo Mode either, so waiting can arguably be recommended anyway.
@LN78 Hey, it's EA. I think we all expected far worse!
It's a sad state of affairs for modern gaming, you're right, but at least Respawn have been granted the time to continue supporting and polishing the game post-launch.
Especially since I'm pretty sure EA wouldn't have minded low sales figures, to support their "nobody wants single player" narrative.
@LN78 Same. Fingers tightly crossed that it can maintain such momentum, because it could lead to the possibility of more single player Star Wars games down the line, as well as potentially get EA looking at other single player projects or remasters (like Mass Effect, he wished somewhat naïvely).
BD-1 turn invisible, that was a bug? That should be a FEATURE, i love bd 1 but it would be nice to not have a metal lump on your back, or have him run after you instead, your character would look so much better imo.
I JUST HOPE THEY FIX THE FRAMERATE ON PS4. ITS NOT STABLE AT THE TIME
