New releases are starting to come thick and fast, and while those on PlayStation 4 didn't make much of a dent, it's a different story for Nintendo. The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening takes number one in the latest physical chart, forcing Borderlands 3 down into second place.
As we mentioned, PS4's new games fail to make the top 10. Truck Driver comes close at number 11, but Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch Remastered debuts at a pretty miserable number 26. Elsewhere, The Division 2 makes a reappearance, jumping from 20th to sixth, presumably because of a price drop.
Here's the latest top 10 in full.
UK Sales Charts: Week Ending 21st September, 2019
- The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening

- Gears 5
- eFootball PES 2020

- Grand Theft Auto V
- Spyro: Reignited Trilogy
- Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled
- NBA 2K20

And the Switch version of Ni No Kuni sold better too. Odd. Then again, I saw no marketing for it.
As for Link's Awakening, well, that's another Switch #1 spot (At this point Switch has to have had more #1s for itself than every other Nintendo system combined), and this trend is shocking given before the Switch the last Nintendo release to do that was in 2011.
But I will say, Borderlands has mastered the art of sticking around. That's another hit for 2K, Randy Pitchford Medieval Times shenanigans aside ;P
The mighty legendary gta 5.word up son
I'm more suprised at Gears 5 being fourth on it's second (?) week then Zelda being top.
I'd assumed most people would've got game pass for a £/$1 for the month just to play it before ditching it. Good on Microsoft for an actual competent exclusive!
@Foxy-Goddess-Scotchy Yeah, I was surprised also. By all accounts Gears 5 is a decent game, but the Game Pass system cannibalizes sales, so this is impressive. Of course their marketing budget has been through the roof (at least in the U.S.) with Gears 5 advertisements every 5 minutes on TV so the profit margin may not be as impressive as we think 😜
I still haven’t gotten my switch lite and zelda copy, I thought I can play it all day long on sunday (yesterday)
Link's Awakening is fun. I plan on getting Borderlands 3 down the line.
Also, it's nice seeing CTR NF keep bouncing around the sale charts and Spyro back in the Top 10. Means we'll get more games in each franchise.
Don't mind admitting that I contributed to that top spot for Link's Awakening... not for myself, of course, but for the smile on my partner's face. Congratulations to Nintendo!
Refreshing to see a non-FIFA football game up there, too.
And hello again, GTAV.
@Knuckles-Fajita it sold better because we have played the game years ago on Playstation so not that odd! new game for switch old one for PlayStation at a price that is frankly stupid for a remaster I will buy it as £25 no more.
Whoa, I honestly didn’t expect Zelda to take top spot!
But the thing that impresses me the most is actually PES being there, I didn’t think it would sell this much.
I tried it after a lot of years of only playing FIFA, and I have to say I’m impressed at how good it is; leaps and bounds over FIFA in the gameplay department, no doubt.
Game sales have been extremely low across the board these last few weeks. Aside from that, given that these are physical sales only... I wouldn't address any weight at all to it.
happy for PES2020. they seem to be doing good this year
