It feels like The Game Awards 2018 only just happened, and yet here we are, talking about this year's show. The glitzy awards ceremony, arranged every year by the one and only Geoff Keighley, has become a little more like its own press conference. Last year's show played host to multiple new game announcements and exclusive trailers; it often felt like the titular awards were simply a sideshow.
That's only going to continue in The Game Awards 2019, which will mark the fifth anniversary of Keighley's creation. In a tweet, the industry figure reveals the date for this year's show.
So, mark your calendars: The Game Awards returns on 12th December 2019. It sounds like this fifth showcase could be the biggest yet. In Geoff we trust.

@ApostateMage thankfully all of its awards are in Cory Barlog's closet, being kept safe with a more deserving game.
Since Joker was revealed at last year's Awards it would be fitting for Nintendo to show off the Fifth Fighter for Smash Ultimate then.
I think aside from seeing what the GOTY is being slightly interesting, there's a lot of balony at this and the oscars. Probably more so at the oscars though.
