PlayStation has just opened its own online store in the US, allowing buyers to go straight to the source for all of their gaming needs. The store currently stocks physical copies of games, as well as hardware, bundles, accessories, and subscriptions.
"This site not only provides our fans in the US with the option to purchase these items directly from PlayStation, but is also intended to help gift givers easily find the right product for their friends or family. Fans will find that prices on the new store align with those found at other retailers," reads the PlayStation Blog.
It's a neat idea, but obviously Sony's going to have to stick to its promise when it comes to pricing. It'll be interesting to see if this new store ends up having its own sales and discounts.

Virtually everything they're selling can be purchased for a lot cheaper elsewhere so not really the best choice at the moment. More options aren't a bad thing though, hopefully they'll have some exclusive sales to justify it.
@redd214 It allows to control prices a little to avoid greedy people going overboard and selling at a crazy high price while not being a too rough competition for smaller sellers.
If they run physical sales like digital....lotsa clicks lol
I don't think they have international shipping so no. I usually use play-asia or amazon since they have international shipping.
If they can compete with Amazon then sure if not I dont think I will go that way. I have amazon prime so I sometimes get same day shipping here in LA. Coupled with steep discounts Sony will have to up their game to get my cash.
Physical is good. Love physical.
If its great like ebay.i will be all over it.word up son
@Rhaoulos Exactly... and for next year by launching PS5, it will help them to provide supply even that other Stores haven't
That’s uncanny because I commented on the article about the special editions of TLOU 2 that this is exactly what they should do.
Even if the price is the same as other retailers I’m personally happy for Sony to get the full profit from my money much like getting CDPR games from GOG (pc version).
Hope they do this for UK/Europe.
If the price is right, I'm in.
Can this be accessed from your ps4? Other than using the browser?
This is great news! I’m always weary of the PS4 controllers on Amazon. I have read reports that some sellers don’t sell the authentic controllers, and could be imitations, so it’s nice to buy directly from the source if you purchase online.
If they tie this into some kind of reward program that can get discounts this could become my new way of buying PlayStation products since Best Buy Gamers Club and Amazon Prime's 20% discount on new games are now gone.
Wait, Sony didn't have their own online store? I pretty much only buy from Amazon online so I never thought to check.
Will have to check it out. As what many have said on here, you can get games for cheaper elsewhere, but some of those games that are 'hard to find', will definitely be a lot easier now...plus, it'll be nice to get some of the physical merchandise!
