So not much then and I bet there charging the same amount as on Xbox despite there been less games.
I would only have been interested if the Dead Space games were on there, maybe give it a whirl on PS5 if they can sort the backwards comparability for PS3 by then
So if I buy the DLC for the sims and they take the sims off, the DLC is then useless... correct?
@Cutmastavictory Not sure how this works. I think you'd lose access to it all unless you bought the game, yes.
@get2sammyb Does it accept PSN fund for pay 4.99 per month as subscriber ? i don't have xbox one that why i am concerning
10 euro for two months, to play A Way Out, Unravel 2 and Fe sounds appealing though.
But how much is it? for the games they present, more then 20 a year, is stealing..
Not really as good value as xbox
@AdamNovice Exactly, it's an embarrassment it costs the same price despite lacking not only games from previous generation but also many from PS4 generation too.
What's the price? (Essential information missing in the article)
@fabisputza00 4.99 per month or 29.99 per year
@Playstation5 We'll find out more in a few hours. I'll update the guide.
@fabisputza00 Just waiting on official confirmation of that. Don't worry, I'll republish as soon as I know.
@get2sammyb oh ok i heard it allow people to use Microsoft credit to pay EA Access on xbox one. i hope it will do same for PS4 to use PSN fund
no DeadSpace no buy
EA Access is really good on Xbox imo but this list is just severely lacking without the back compatibility boost.
It's cool that they're finally allowing it on PS4 as an option though. Say you want to play 'A Way Out' or just try 'Burnout Paradise', now you can just rent it for a couple of quid rather than having to pay full price or wait for a deal.
That it? Would of thought it Would have the same games as xbox.
It's a pretty poor selection. I suppose they could get round the BC issue by offering the service on ps3, but then again I suppose not everyone who has a ps4 has a ps3 too. We have to admit that Xbox has got us beat in that regard.
Fight Night or don't care.
yeah there is absolutely NOTHING if interest there so i'll give it a pass thank you
I assume there will be way more games than this.. like the Star Wars Battlefront games, Dragon Age, Need for Speed etc.. OK I suppose, if you like EA games, the trials for the new games is also useful, for example getting to play Fifa early and getting a discount when you buy it
obviously not for everyone, but OK for those that use it
What a load of EA this is.
That's all? I thought it be the same as Xbox and PC. Yet same price? Pffft.
Has this list just come from the EA website? Because it lists those games and says ...and many more.
Saying it's a complete list feels disingenuous if there isn't confirmation of what the list is yet.
I'll be updating as soon as the full list is announced. This is all we have right now.
Its on the UK PS store now, download a free EA Access Hub, then £3.99 a month or £19.99 for 12 months. Doesn't list which games which games you can play at launch.
I think you need to remove the word "FREE" from the title of this article.
For any potential European subscribers might be worth pointing out this doesn't launch until 01:00 25th July BST. Countdown clock:
https://www.ea.com/en-gb/ea-access/ps4
i assume there is more to it than this initial list?. last year's sports games which will be redundant in just over a month, and a lot of 2-3 year old titles that have been sale for 4 quid (BF5, TF2, ME:A, etc)?.
What a stunning line up! EA really are INCREDIBLE!
At last I get to EXPERIENCE the stunning TIMELESS classic Mass Effect Andromeda!
That list is incomplete, here's the full list:
https://www.ea.com/ea-access/games#playstation-4-only
The service includes most EA games released on PS4 up to date, minus very recent releases like FIFA 20.
Keep in mind, if you have an Xbox One, the service is even better there as it includes some Xbox 360 games like the Dead Space trilogy; these last-gen games are not available on the PS4 subscription for obvious reasons.
Updated.
Could just be me, but what's the point of having both Garden Warfare games?
Fe and A Way out? I don't see them on the PS4 games list.
Honestly it's not a terrible list of games. Unfortunately I already own 8 of them. Will sub for a month though to play Burnout again and check out Madden 20 and maybe some of the Battlefield games.
How do I download them for free? It keeps asking me for money.
Much less than what's available on Xbox and PC, but probably for the same price.... Pass.
Was going to invest even though I have quite a few of these titles but as you all reckon some titles are missing I might have to reconsider. I wanted to play battlefield 1942, Medal of honour etc. Guess we’re just not worthy!
They're not free games if you have to pay a subscription for them are they?
It's like saying ps plus monthly games are free...or all the film's and shows on Netflix are free....
Forgive me if I've missed some information, I don't know anything about EA Access
@Playstation5
Dont know where your from but i just tried it here in the states and it looks like you need a CCordebit card on your account to use it. And i say screw that.
EA Access:
Its the digital version of the dumpster in the back alley behind CEX on a failing high street.
What's this about an EA Access Hub... are the games not placed with all others once they're downloaded (I like to organise mine in folders).
@Topov81 I've set up a ea access folder. Hubs in there, along with the games.
The hub states 35+ games, then provides a list of exactly 35 lol
It's worth a one-off £3.99 to play the few I'm interested in, but they need to add more or figure out a way of offering the PS3 titles (an EA-only PS Now?) to make it worthwhile longer term.
I might get it for a month or two, there are some games here i am interested in like both Unravels, Burnout Paradise remastered, Fe, Dragon Age: Inquisition, Mirror’s Edge, and Mass Effect.
But overall a very weak list with all the annual sports titles that make up the bulk of this and hardly change from year to year.
I can see myself trying it once or twice for a month at a time, but that’s about it.
My mate's interested, as he buys most of the sports games every year... though I'm not sure why, as it doesn't include the latest versions.
For me, not at all worth it. I've already got the only games I'd play (BF4 and FIFA19), and I'll probably get FIFA20 when it's out. The rest are of no interest. They may be one of the top 2 publishers, but for me they're not a patch on the company they used to be.
As I only have DAI, I might give this a shot for a month and power through a few games.
People saying it’s less games.... well what did you expect... backwards compatibility isn’t a thing on PlayStation. Hardly the fault of EA
@KnightWolf i live in USA : Wisconsin ... i already download game in EA Access.. it accepted PSN Fund
@BridgeToClarity Thanks, I'll add Rory McIlroy now.
As I already own it on Xbox one x I would have got it again if they had the mass effect trilogy and older dragon age games as they don't not worth it for me
Same amount of money for less games and features is not a good deal
@Playstation5 oh it did well ty guess i'll give EA access another try then
Sony was correct the first time "not a good value". I do own 7 of the games listed. If I pay for a game I want in in my media bookcase with the rest of my games.
@Cutmastavictory yes. If the game is removed (which it won't), you will just be left with the dlc
Here's a question right out of left field...
How would the trophies for A Way Out work on this?
As I understand it, it's a co-op game, and if one person buys it, they can invite a friend to play. That friend downloads it and you can play together, but only the one who bought the game can earn trophies.
If you play the game through Access, technically neither of you own the game. I presume both players would earn trophies, though.
So that kinda sucks for the non-purchasers who played a non-Access copy.
If a previous non-purchaser has completed the game with a friend and downloads it via Access, will all of the trophies pop? Or will they need to play it again?
Yeah, I know... no-one cares. But I'm curious.
Will this be available in all regions?
I'm excited they've brought that to the platform, but dammit if I haven't already bought enough to make the service obsolete... I'll have to wait for them to bring more to up the value proposition. Still great news for Ps4 owners!
Wow, like half the library of the Xbox version due to no backwards compatibility for the exact same price. Fantastic! Good job here EA, could have at least knocked a quid off!
@Paranoimia playing the EA access is equivalent to buying the game so you would earn trophies. If you played the game with someone without paying you won't have a local save file, ergo your completion won't have been tracked and the trophies wouldn't pop. I fail to see why this sucks for people that completed it before as the download player, they could have bought their own copy at the time if they were that concerned by it and now they would have the opportunity to play through a great game again but earn trophies this time.
@Katep that was never on the table, the PS4 cannot play PS3 games and EA weren't going to make EA access a streaming service just for PS3 games on PS4.
It’s INSANELY sh*tty of them to force a new subscription instead of letting me use my Origin Access account which I’ve already paid for. Of course EA feel the need to charge me twice, they really just don’t care about their customers and I actually bought into the whole subscription nonsense. Bloody hell, even Stadia lets you access the games from different devices.
Unless they can figure out how to put dead space one and two and make it playable on PS4 it’s a hard pass for me
Just so everybody knows, you NEED a credit card added to your psn store account. I have plenty of credit in my wallet but still won't let you purchase any membership with out a CC attached.(Some regions)
@Splat
So right! Where the hell is a new Fightnight game? Can you imagine how much money that would make? And not just stupid EA. The first company that stops making open world adventures where you shoot zombies and instead makes a GOOD boxing game will bank a mint. Dont tell me licensing is a problem. Boxing promoters want their fighters well recognized. They'd fight each other to have their boxing stable be the one chosen. Boxers themselves want it. Its the stupidest genre omission in videogame history.
Wheres 2k? Even if Bigben makes it people would buy it out!
@get2sammyb NBA live 17 is on your list, but it never got released as it took the year off.
Actually as a yearly cost of £19.99 so £1.66 a month its not that bad, you get the 10% discount on new EA games as well. If you are digital buyer of EA games you're getting £6 off a new £60 game. If you can play Fallen Order or FIFA 20 early and with a discount I can see people subscribing.
How are they free if you pay a subscription fee? Don't be ridiculous.
It's inexpensive if you are playing these games for the story but if you are into online multiplayer, it might be better off buying the game.
The list here shows 47 games. I signed up and went to the games and there is only 31 on there.
@ZeroAbbadon it’s not EA’s fault, it’s Sony’s. Since they refuse to have backwards compatibility, therefore most of the games can’t be played.
@Stocksy which only makes it more confusing since the PS Now library contains older games playable on the PS4.
Also, seeing this list and all the games that aren’t on it because Sony has a bug up their butts about backwards compatibility makes me glad that I also own an Xbox one s. There is around 100 games on EA Access for the Xbox.
Most of these games have been on sale and most if not some would have then already in there library, I think it's a poor subscription service it's isn't worth it you could complete loads of these games in a few months if you had the free time
@BirdsWithPants but you “stream” those don’t you not download? EA access is a download service
@Katep 100% agree
@get2sammyb subbed for a year but no sign of Andromeda 🤔. Ah more games have been added including Mass Effect Andromeda 🙂
@ZeroAbbadon they could have found away there own psnow for those games maybe
@Katep which would involve Sony offering unlimited access to certain parts of the service exclusively for people that pay a sub that isn't PS Now, hardly a money maker for Sony.
@BirdsWithPants it's physically impossible. It's a technical limitation, not a stubborn refusal to do it. Don't you think Sony would do it if they could?
@ZeroAbbadon nope not talking about them joining psnow but having there own streaming service for those games it could have been done but seems it was never ever tried to be worked out
But to offer the service with less stuff for the same price is still a rip off
I've jumped in with a months trial just to play through the last couple of Battlefield games and Unravel 1 & 2. Well worth the £3.99 in this case. See what they come up with next to tempt me to pay the year.
I know the whole backwards compat thing is a shame but whats the odds of EA & Sony making some sort of deal to allow the PS-Now EA games accessible.
@Katep it is a rip off but to expect EA to create their own streaming platform just to allow PS3 games to be on their very cheap subscription service is very unrealistic. Especially since I severely doubt Sony would allow a competing streaming platform to be implemented on their consoles. I think you need to keep your expectations in check a bit more.
mmmmm, I have both a PS4 and an Xbox. I have EA Access on the XBox and there's a lot more games available on Xbox EA Access than on the PS4 version so it looks like PS4 users are getting a worse deal
Loving Madden NFL 25 in the list.....I knew there was a time machine somewhere 😁
I decided on getting the year sub just for the fact of some games I don't own anymore and I can play them again at ease.
That's alot of shooters and sports games, neither of which I care about. There is no value here.
@Dellybelly yeah I created an account just to poo on Sony. I’m more of a PlayStation player, have been for 25 years ever since the very first PS came out in 1994. And I’ve had every PS console since. I’ve only had 2 different Xbox consoles. The fact is Xbox is better than PS in some ways and PS is better than Xbox in some ways, you don’t need to get all butt hurt just because somebody voices their opinion and tells the truth. Get your panties out of a wad.
@Dellybelly Let's watch the language please.
@BirdsWithPants That goes for you too let's watch the language and the personal attacks. Everyone is entitled to their opinion.
@BirdsWithPants And Sony doesn't have anything up their butts. They literally cannot do Backwards compatibility on the PS4 due to the chipset the PS3 used.
Recently bought Titanfall 2 for $7. Nothing else on the list is tempting really. A Way Out and Battlefront 2 maybe but it’s definitely not a service seller.
@Tasuki exactly, and I was voicing mine. He is the one that came at me in case you didn’t notice. Sorry, but I’m not going to let someone talk to me like that without saying something back. And I don’t need to be talked to like a 5 year old either - we’re adults, let us handle it.
How is this games free? If you pay to play its not free, not at all... 🤣
@BirdsWithPants Just cause he started it doesn't mean it's ok for you to fire back. There is an ignore button after all.
Well I like NHL games, I like NFL games and I like Battlefield games, Battlefront 2 is also supposed to be pretty good now that they shifted focus to fixing it instead of emptying wallets and I wouldn't mind trying out Fifa again - so actually £20 is extremely reasonable for someone like me and I'll go ahead and subscribe.
That being said there really isn't that big a variety and padding it out with old versions of the same franchise goes to show really.
It would be nice to have the back-catalogue as well PC has Wing Commander etc. Old EA games from PS1,PS2 and PS3 would be great as despite EA being utter douchebags they have made some great games. (ps I am aware it's not as simple as just making PS1,2&3 games available)
May try a month. I know its EA but have wanted to try Unravel and Battlefield 5. Can't see needing an annual sub tho.
Would help if you actually checked the service before publishing this list. Rory McIlroy isn't on there, nor is Madden 25 or the older sports games, they're all delisted from the service.
I feel that it really needs more sports games.
@Tasuki
Then why can microsoft do backwards compatibility with a simple update of a Xbox 360 game ? The same games where played on Ps3. Sony just being lazy
@KnightWolf Because the Xbox 360 used a different chipset then the PS3. In order for the PS4 to be BC with PS3 they would literally have to put a PS3 inside the PS4 and that would make it even bigger and more expensive.
Updated again.
I'll probably try this service out eventually, once I get thru my PS4 backlog.
@Gumbopudding Not true for all regions, just purchased a month on PSN Greece, and I didn't add a credit card, nor was I asked to add 1. All that was taken was 3.99 euros in psn funds, and I have auto renew turned off.Worth it just for the 10 free hours of trying out madden 20. If they do that soon for fifa 20,i will buy another month.
I'll castrate myself before I ever subscribe to this.
I will get the knife
Tried an Andromeda trial a year back or so, bought a month of ea access recently to play the full game(cheaper than buying the game itself), but now its acting as if I'm still playing the trial and asking me to purchase the game to progress...
I got one month of it after selling PES 2019 ready for the next release. This way I have FIFA 19 to keep me occupied for a month and I also get Unravel 2 which my daughter likes playing co-op and SWBF2 which my son enjoys co-op. £3.99, good price. Wouldn't do it for a whole year though.
@AdamNovice 30 bucks a year is pretty cheap for quick access to the library
I wish they would stop calling things FREE when you pay a subscription for access to them.
Is this just becoming a bin now for rubbish games ? Yeh it was crap put it in access 🤔
I tried to get them. BUT THEY ARE NOT FREE. That’s my fist use of uppercase all year. C’mon pushsquare
Help me out here, I don't see any free games at all. I see you having to pay for a service that allows you access to these games, many of which can be purchase for $10 or less depending on whether or not they're in another flash/publisher sale this week or next. Very poor value indeed but people are gullible to overpaying.
