Call of Duty: Modern Warfare PS4 PlayStation 4

There's been a bit of a stink surrounding Call of Duty: Modern Warfare this week. After receiving a flashy new story trailer, it was revealed that PlayStation 4 will have about a year's timed exclusivity over Survival Mode, one element of the co-op focused Spec Ops. It didn't take long for this to ruffle some feathers.

Now, Infinity Ward's Taylor Kurosaki has addressed the matter on Twitter. In a couple of messages, the game's narrative director explains that things like this go above the development studio. "There are decisions that are above all of our pay grades that have to be considered," he explains to a fan. In other words, Survival Mode's PS4 exclusive period is a deal made between Activision and Sony -- it's not up to Infinity Ward.

Kurosaki also explains that Survival Mode is only a tiny portion of the game. He describes the mode as "a sliver of Spec Ops" and says this will be the only example of exclusive content: "You can play Spec Ops and every new bit of content we drop, day one. The only timed exclusivity is Survival," he clarifies.

What do you think about this? Has the mode's year of exclusive time on PS4 put you off, or will you play the game unfazed? Check those corners in the comments below.
