With Gamescom 2019 out of the way, we now know pretty much the entirety of the PlayStation 4 release schedule through until 2020. It's not quite as great a line-up as previous years, but there are some games we're sure you're hotly anticipating.
Without further ado, please vote for the three PS4 games you're the most excited about playing for the rest of 2019 and explain why in the comments below.
What Are Your Most Anticipated PS4 Games for the Rest of 2019? (Choose 3 games) (6,111 votes)
Liam grew up with a PlayStation controller in his hands and a love for Metal Gear Solid. Nowadays, he can be found playing the latest and greatest PS5 games as well as supporting Derby County. That last detail is his downfall.
Control is missing, and while that could go either way I am looking forward to it the most out of any other game at the moment, but probably because it’s just around the corner!
I voted Death Stranding, Doom and Code Vein (which also looks like it could go either way!)
Greedfall, The Outer Worlds and Death Stranding. The first seems interesting, the second seems fun and the last... I just want to know what it's all about
In the shorter term, Man of Medan, possibly Medievil, & Concrete Genie... I don't doubt Death Stranding will be a quality game-i just need to see more of it to know if its my sort of game. On the indie front i just hope the EU/AU store finally gets Battle Princess Madelyn. Eight plus months now & still "working to resolve its release",radio silence!!
Death Stranding, DOOM Eternal, and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. However, I have a feeling I'm going to be underwhelmed by all three of them. Don't ask me why. Just a gut instinct.
Struggled to actually pick three. Might be the first time there are no games this winter I definitely have to get. I picked Death Stranding, Jedi and Outer Worlds (probably in that order ) but will wait for reviews for all 3. Control probably would have pushed out Outer Worlds if it was there.
Catherine Full Body, Monster Hunter World Iceborne, and AI: The Somnium Files were my picks, with Man of Medan very close behind in fourth place. AI: The Somnium Files is still rather unknown at this stage, but it's made by the guy who did Zero Escape, so I'm rather hopeful for it.
@kyleforrester87 Absolutely, my good man! Control’s absence is sorely noted, definitely the game I’m most looking forward to. Death Stranding, Man Of Medan and The Outer Worlds say hi 👋
Really hyped for Star Wars, but it could be a major disappointment. I like the look of Greedfall. Struggled to pick the last one as a game I am looking forward to - the Doctor Who PSVR game - wasn’t in the list. So I picked Borderlands 3. Even if it’s not much different from B2, I’ll be happy as I thoroughly enjoyed that.
F.I.F.A. 20.....but no eFootball Pro Evolution Soccer 2020...Push Square is this a mistake or are you pandering to the corrupt F.I.F.A. for whom the Belguim Government have made it clear they do not agree in F.I.F.A. profiting in little Tommy's/Janes pocket money.
code vein.medievil.ni no kuni remaster.gotta finish borderlands 2 and all the dlc.bbefore 2.and it's not gonna happen.too many games on my backlog.i bought 7 games couples weeks ago.and I'm buying more games this week.and with ps plus wow💖.im having fun.word up son
I was searching for tlou 2 and ghost of tsushima until I found out the list is for 2019 games . Final fantasy 7 remaster, death stranding, and trails of cold steel 3 is my anticipated games for 2019, oh and medievil remake too.
Doom Eternal, Outer Worlds and Ghost Recon: Breakpoint in that order for me but Gears 5 would of been my first pick.
I’m surprised most people have voted Death Stranding despite admitting they don’t know much about it, I can see it not living up to the hype it has and just being one of those 7/10 rated games.
1.Trials of Cold Steal 3 2.Knights and Bikes 3.Control Since the last two weren’t actually on the list. I voted for Death Stranding and MediEvil instead.
PS4 may be on its way out, but that's a good list of games right there. Personally all I'm getting for the rest of the year is Death Stranding, as my focus right now is on Switch releases. I hope to finish Death Stranding before Pokémon's launch the week after, lol.
Outer Worlds, Death Stranding, then FFVIII Remastered are definitely my most anticipated of late 2019...though I'll probably end up picking up Man of Medan, Ni no Kuni Remastered, MediEvil, and Blacksad on day one or shortly after release too.
Seeing Borderlands so far on rank 4, I feel quite bad for not being excited for it. I have no chance playing borderlands with friends, therefore I played Borderlands 2 solo and I got bored to hell with it. The humor and characters I liked, but that was about it. Gunplay just didnt feel good after having played too much Destiny and other FPS with great gunplay. Ah well... Maybe I will give it another chance someday. But damn, Outer Worlds also releasing this year, which I totally forget. My wallet is already getting traumatized as it is.
@Mega-Gazz There is no FFVII (=7) in this poll. It is FFVIII (= 8). Thats the reason.
Control would have been my first choice! I’m so happy Remedy went back to multiplatform (I have no PC/Xbox)!
Voted Doom Eternal... I don’t think I can be disappointed by this one since I just want more of the same.
Star War looks good... I kinda trust Respawn will deliver something special.
Death Stranding... I hope it’s something special. I’m cautious though... but I normally buy exclusives day one.
Concrete Genie looks interesting... and Medievil I’ll buy... Never had the chance to play any game of that series.
Marvel Ironman VR... I hope it’s a good game... not much anything else I’m hyped for on PSVR... I hope they announce some new games to be released before Black Friday to push the VR sales!
I picked the 3 games I have pre-ordered now. Catherine full body, MediEvil, & Death Stranding. I know there will be more along with the hoard of low priced Black Friday sale games I will buy.
I suppose I have Doom Eternal because I really liked the last one. The previous one found a perfect balance between old skool gameplay and modern gameplay mechanics like upgrading your weapon, and the story was perfectly wacky but with just enough plausibility (I know right) to keep it interesting.
But the bar is set pretty high and I doubt this can live up to the expectations. I'll definitely wait a few months before buying
Very excited for Decay of Logos and Wreckfest tomorrow. I'm also very curious to see how well Ys IX is received, even though that wont come to the states until next year i'd imagine. The 2v2 in the CoD alpha over the weekend has sold on the new game. I still need to find time for Sekiro at some point.
I added FIFA20 because I'll be buying it, though I can't say it's really 'anticipated', because... well, it's FIFA.
I also added CoD Modern Warfare because I really like the look of it from what I've seen, and the campaign looks like it'll be a doozy; don't really care about the online. But I'll probably pick it up used some time after launch, so that I can see what crap Activision put in after it's been reviewed, and also not give them any money.
I might pick up Breakpoint, but from what I saw in the tech test a few months back, I have concerns, so it's not the must-have for me that it might have been.

Modern Warfare and Decay Of Logos.
Looking forward to outer worlds, as long as the switch version won’t release this year I’m buying it on ps4. If I like it I might double dip.
Control is missing, and while that could go either way I am looking forward to it the most out of any other game at the moment, but probably because it’s just around the corner!

The Outer Worlds, GR Breakpoint and Borderlands 3 for moi.
In the shorter term, Man of Medan, possibly Medievil, & Concrete Genie...

Probably just Doom Eternal for me and perhaps The Outer Worlds, there's a lot more coming elsewhere that'll be taking up my time
Struggled to actually pick three. Might be the first time there are no games this winter I definitely have to get. I picked Death Stranding, Jedi and Outer Worlds (probably in that order ) but will wait for reviews for all 3. Control probably would have pushed out Outer Worlds if it was there.
no blasphemous? gameplay previews of outer worlds were pretty generic
1.Shenmue 3
2.Doom Eternal
3.Man of Medan
4.(Ni No Kuni)
Catherine Full Body, Monster Hunter World Iceborne, and AI: The Somnium Files were my picks, with Man of Medan very close behind in fourth place. AI: The Somnium Files is still rather unknown at this stage, but it's made by the guy who did Zero Escape, so I'm rather hopeful for it.
Borderlands 3, Grid, and NFS Heat
Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order, Death Stranding and Shenmue 3.
Also, hugely looking forward to Medievil. It's going to be a nice round off to the year.
DOOM Eternal (On PC mind)
And that's it.
I'm all about dat Shenmue 3. Little else matters apart from MediEvil.
Greedfall for sure.
Death stranding seems interesting... but not feeling the hype...

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne,Borderlands 3 and The Outer Worlds.
Death Stranding, Medievil and Concrete Genie were my picks. Gotta support them old exclusives you know
I'm looking forward to AI: The Somnium Files, Shantae and the Seven Sirens, and Ni no Kuni, although those will likely all be Switch purchases.
Greed fall, Outer Worlds and Shadowkeep for me. Although I’m interested in Borderlands 3 and Modern Warfare as both seem to shaping up well
Greedfall
The Outer Worlds (free with gamepass ultimate)
Control
Death Stranding
And Gears 5
Are my most Anticipated for the rest of 2019
I just want someone to make a new Game Genie so I don’t have to spend so much time finishing my backlog of games.

Death Stranding, Shenmue III, and Concrete Genie for me. Very excited for all three.
I'm really hyped up for Star Wars. Please, don't screw this game up.
On this list for me would be Doom Eternal, Concrete Genie and MediEvil. Honorable mentions would be Death Stranding, Shenmue 3, FF8 Remaster.
Few games on Switch I'm looking forward to as well.
@get2sammyb add outer worlds im right there with ya
@Frigate it seems eFootball Pro Evolution Soccer 2020 is not a big hitter.
I don't think the 1% voting for fifa 20 will be reflected in the number of sales for some reason
Can't vote as need 3 and I'm only after 1 on the list.
Concrete Genie is the line I'm most interested in for the rest of 2019, closely followed by Death Stranding, Luigi's Mansion 3 & DOOM Eternal
More Monster Hunter World Iceborne, Concrete Genie, Shenmue 3 and I might wait for a discount for Borderlands 3 to get everything
Code Wayne, Death Stranding and Greedfall.

2.Knights and Bikes
3.Control
Since the last two weren’t actually on the list. I voted for Death Stranding and MediEvil instead.
@darkswabber Switch version isn't out this year? Damn, was going to get it for Switch due to portability.
PS4 may be on its way out, but that's a good list of games right there. Personally all I'm getting for the rest of the year is Death Stranding, as my focus right now is on Switch releases. I hope to finish Death Stranding before Pokémon's launch the week after, lol.
@General_Spiller nope, or atleast, the switch version doesn’t have a release date yet.
Control! Also Death stranding and hopefully Star Wars Fallen Order.
Outer Worlds, Death Stranding, then FFVIII Remastered are definitely my most anticipated of late 2019...though I'll probably end up picking up Man of Medan, Ni no Kuni Remastered, MediEvil, and Blacksad on day one or shortly after release too.
Pes2020 even though I don't see that option here
I’m shocked FFVII isn’t higher
Seeing Borderlands so far on rank 4, I feel quite bad for not being excited for it. I have no chance playing borderlands with friends, therefore I played Borderlands 2 solo and I got bored to hell with it.

Outer Worlds, Death Stranding, DOOM Eternal in no particular order
Surprised to see The Outer Worlds beating Borderlands 3.
I picked the 3 games I have pre-ordered now. Catherine full body, MediEvil, & Death Stranding. I know there will be more along with the hoard of low priced Black Friday sale games I will buy.
I went for the FF VII Remake, MediEvil and Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order. Also looking forward to Biomutant
Shenmue III, The Surge 2, Code Vien.
Already pre-ordered Control i think it will be fun just like Quantum Break
Man of Medan, Medieval, and Death Stranding. I’m cautiously optimistic about Fallen Order.
I suppose I have Doom Eternal because I really liked the last one. The previous one found a perfect balance between old skool gameplay and modern gameplay mechanics like upgrading your weapon, and the story was perfectly wacky but with just enough plausibility (I know right) to keep it interesting.

@Frigate I agree it's looking like it will be the best one to date too.
2 weeks left.
Basically, only Concrete Genie for me.
I added FIFA20 because I'll be buying it, though I can't say it's really 'anticipated', because... well, it's FIFA.

We can only pick 3 total?... I got 4 just in September 😂
Trails of Cold Steel III is almost here!!
Monster Hunter Ice Born
Concrete Genie
Borderlands 3
