It's not quite an entire series reboot, but Need for Speed Heat is now officially a thing. EA just got done debuting the announcement trailer, which you can check out for yourself above.

It's coming to PS4 on 8th November worldwide, and the footage shown looks like a return to form. The cops can play dirty this time at night, but you'll have legitimate races to participate in while the sun is still up. Raw gameplay will be debuted at Gamescom Opening Night Live next week, so make sure you check back with us for that.

Hustle by day and risk it all at night in Need for Speed™ Heat, a white-knuckle street racer, where the lines of the law fade as the sun starts to set. By day, Palm City hosts the Speedhunter Showdown, a sanctioned competition where you earn Bank to customize and upgrade your high-performance cars. At night, ramp up the intensity in illicit street races that build your reputation, getting you access to bigger races and better parts. But stay ready – cops are waiting and not all of them play fair.

The game will be available as both a standard edition and a deluxe version that comes with some REP and Bank boosts, four exclusive character outfits, and a K.S. edition starter car. Both versions are available for pre-order on the PlayStation Store right now, with the deluxe option coming in at £69.99. A US price isn't listed just yet, but EA Access members will get a small discount.
