Final Fantasy VII Remake PS4 PlayStation 4

Yesterday, Xbox Germany caused a bit of a stir when it posted some false information about Final Fantasy VII Remake on its Facebook page. The post, which has long since been removed, incorrectly declared the game would launch on Xbox One on the same day as the PlayStation 4 release -- the only version we currently know about.

While the highly anticipated remake is marked as a timed exclusive on Sony's console, no official mention has been made of other platforms, and Square Enix has now doubled down on this in a new statement. Responding to VGC's request for comment, a spokesperson provided the website with the following:

"As previously announced, Final Fantasy VII Remake will be released for the PlayStation 4 on March 3rd 2020. We have no plans for other platforms."

So, there you go: official word, if it was even needed, that Xbox Germany's post was a big slip up. It's likely the remake will make its way to other platforms eventually, but at least for a while, the only place you'll be able to play it is on PS4.
