I thought Monkey King is Back was supposed come to the west this year?

Hopefully we'll hear release dates for the games announced last year, especially lost soul aside

The fact that you mentioned Farside of all Chinajoy games makes me guess that you guys didn't know that it was just recently released this month this time renamed as Don't Even Think...and no, it's not good. Read SixthAxis's review on it. It has good potential but it plays and look worse than most other BR games, including the mobile ones, and for a PS4 exclusive that's embarrassing.

I'm all for chinese games but It's pretty clear that not all of them will be "big hits". Just because it was announced on ChinaJoy, I highly doubt it will automatically end up as good as they promised.

Looking at the trailers for a few on their related Steam pages, I can say with almost 100% certainty that these are 14 games I'll have zero interest in.

@SoulsBourne128 Oh yeah, I remember that game. Played it last week. Felt like a poor battle royale game with a sloppy execution for good ideas. Wouldn't have been so bad if the werewolves weren't so overpowered. Even mediocre chinese BR games on mobile like Knives Out and Cyber Hunter were more enjoyable.

The fact that it was announced back in ChinaJoy 2018 makes it even worse.

And speaking of Monkey King, I wonder whatever happened to that game. I hope they improved a lot because the first gameplay peek they shown wasn't anything particularly impressive.

@viciousarcanum My guess is that they delayed it further, which should be good because it means more time to polish it. I wasn't impressed with the game's combat so I'm hoping they'll take enough time to refine it

It sucks cuz some of these chinese games may have pretty cool concepts and might look pretty but its clear that there isnt enough budget behind them. Lost soul aside and F.I.S.T are really the only cool looking games for me

I know it's China-joy, but Project Eve, Granblue Fantasy, ANNO. I'm expecting some news on these.

I'm as interested to the conference as I am with Evo 2019. In other words, I'm intrigued but still skeptical. Chinese games are known for cool concepts and/or pretty graphics but is the gameplay where it falls flat, as well as their ideas not being fully executed as they promised. First few VR games we got from China Hero were very average. Hardcore Mecha was pretty good but still flawed. I'm hopeful that the second batch will be better, along with other non-China Hero games, but who knows.

@ronb44 Same. I played a plethora of chinese games on the PS4, and almost the majority of them are mediocre to average, especially Sword and Fairy 6, which is probably the most buggy and worst-running chinese game on the PS4, and I'm disappointed Push Square didn't review it. Only very few were decent or alright.
