On the 29th August, SEGA will host a Yakuza-related press conference in Japan. It's highly likely that the event will give us our first real look at the next Yakuza title -- the first game in the mainline series that won't star longtime protagonist Kazuma Kiryu.
Indeed, we don't know much about this upcoming instalment. The main character's called Ichiban Kasuga, it's going to release on PlayStation 4, and development is apparently progressing smoothly. Hopefully in just over a month from now, we'll have a lot more information to go on.
Are you looking forward to the next Yakuza game? Dare to walk the streets of Kamurocho in the comments section below.

Yakuza 3-5 PS4 please. Cannot say this enough. Let me play those first. Thank you.
I mean I am excited to see this new game, but at the same time, I want to experience all of Kiryu's story. I don't want to just skip to Yakuza 6.
I second the notion to bring 3-5 over even if its just digital.
Recently finished Judgment, and I'm ready for more.
@MS7000 I agree. This is why I haven't even touched Judgment, because I wanted to play Yakuza successively and complete Kiryu's story. And now they're going to be getting into Yakuza 7 (which is a turn-based game I believe?), so they're kinda all over the place here...
Take it easy team Yakuza, I'm barely in chapter 2 of Judgment. I do understand that many want 3-5 on PS4, but you can either get them on PS3 or psnow. I'd much rather see localisations of the two spin offs in feudal Japan.
Hyped and nervous at the same time. Kiryu will be a tough act to follow.
@PunkRx_Lockly The turn based stuff was just an April Fools joke. People loved how it looked, though, and I wouldn't bet against some kind of turn based minigame in the final release.
Thank GOD ! lol
I wasn't sure if I'd pick it up or not after seeing that footage. 🤣
Not that I'm against turn-based fighting, but I wouldn't want it in a Yakuza game unless it was a mini-game.
