From the people that brought us MotorStorm and DriveClub, this boisterous, colourful arcade racer ditches finish lines for team-based matches that focus on objectives. Its vehicle classes all boast unique abilities that'll help your team or hinder the opposition, and they all complement each other as you vie for victory in any of the four modes. It's a unique, bold, and action-packed game that's a breath of fresh air on a platform as starved for arcade racers as PS4.

11. Sprint Vector
Another PlayStation VR entry here, but Sprint Vector is well worth highlighting. Using two PS Move controllers, you pump your arms like you're running on the spot, and it's this simple action that makes the game such a joy. The intuitive controls will have you screaming through each race course as you run, jump, and glide through corners and obstacles. It's a little light on content, but this is an enjoyably physical racing game PSVR owners should check out. As an added bonus, it's a pretty good workout.
The PS4 hasn't had many good arcade racers throughout its lifespan, so the arrival of Team Sonic Racing is a pleasant surprise. Like Onrush, this kart racer puts an emphasis on teamwork, but it keeps the cooperation locked to regular races. The collaborative aspects are pretty successful, and even if you don't like the idea, you can play the game as a standard kart racer too. It's not the most fleshed out racing game on PS4, but the on-track action is undeniably lots of fun.
A wonderful recreation of the PSone original, Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled is a real blast from the past. Drift boosting through beautifully rebuilt tracks in the generous Adventure mode or taking the racing online is a lot of fun. Much like the PSone title it's based on, this is an arcade racing game with tight controls, surprising difficulty, and lots to see and do. Despite some areas that could've done with modernising, this is probably just about the best kart racer on PS4.
