And there's another PlayStation 5 game to add to the list. We imagine many games currently in development are at least being considered for the cross-generation treatment, but Techland has made it clear Dying Light 2 is getting both a PS4 and PS5 version. Yes, the free-running zombie action game is making the leap across platforms.
The developer confirmed as much during an interview with Wccftech. Directly asked if the sequel is a cross-generation title, chief technology officer Pawel Rohleder said: "Techland always has an eye on the latest new toys! To be more specific — yes, the plan since the beginning of production has been to make Dying Light 2 a cross-generation title".
So, there you go, simple as that. Will you be playing Dying Light 2 on PS4, or will you hold out for the next-gen edition? Take a running jump into the comments below.

Absolutely buying the 5 version. Dying Light is one of my favorite games of this generation, and it deserves all the respect and power I can provide it.
I suspect most games coming in the next year will be, just that some won't want to admit it for fear of denting sales for the initial PS4 version
That kinda stinks. I was hoping that when you put a PS4 game into the PS5 it would just get an upgrade patch.
@sajoey If absolute top quality is the priority...then you gotta get the PC version!
Definitely holding out for ps5 on all the games im interested in.
Its going to be an awful wait in most cases im sure, but as they say, worth the wait!
I don't really understand the need for two separate versions of the game. PS4 games will work on PS5 just fine. Just seems a little pointless. I'm certainly not paying for a slightly better version of games on PS5 if I already own the PS4 version.
I'd expect Pro like enhancements to PS4 games running on a PS5 anyways. For example, won't an SSD in the PS5 mean that PS4 games will load faster on it?
Thats the only 3rd party reason i needed lol. I was day 1 anyways in ps5 and dying light 2
I'll just wait for the PS5 version.
They tried that with dying light 1, didn't work out. I wonder what lessons they learned.
@Dange whats not to understand? This happens EVERY GENERATION..... business 101. This is done to move new hardware.
My point is they could patch the PS4 game to upscale like the Pro since PS4 games will work on a PS5 anyway. Not having to re-buy software for small gains is gonna shift more hardware.
I'm not really bothered I will play the ps4 version, whatever is cheaper for me imo.
