Borderlands 2 could be getting free DLC, assuming a Steam directory leak is legit. The page references an upcoming add-on pack named Commander Lilith & The Fight for Sanctuary, which looks set to release on 9th June for free. That just so happens to coincide with the date of Microsoft’s press conference, so expect an announcement there alongside new Borderlands 3 gameplay.

Presumably this will bridge the gap between the 2012 title and its impending sequel. When you consider that Borderlands: The Handsome Collection is currently free on PlayStation Plus – and heavily, heavily discounted on other store fronts – it looks like this is all part of Gearbox’s marketing plan. It’ll be interesting to see if the PlayStation VR version receives the new content, too.
