If you watched Google's inaugural Stadia Connect broadcast ahead of E3, you may have caught a glimpse of Gylt. This is the new title from Tequila Works, the studio behind games such as RiME. Billed as a Stadia exclusive, it seemed that this adventure game would only be playable on the upcoming streaming platform. However, new comments from the development team sound like a multi-platform release may be on the cards.
After successfully dodging a line of questioning from Eurogamer about Gylt's exclusive status, co-founder and creative director Raúl Rubio Munárriz eventually offered some encouraging words. "Of course, we will try to make Gylt accessible for everyone," he told Eurogamer. "I guess it's not a design question, it's more of a business question. Today is not the time to answer that question but rest assured, everyone will be able to play the game".
It sounds like Gylt may turn out to be a timed exclusive on Stadia, with a release on PlayStation 4 (or PS5?) later down the line. Would you like to see this game release on other platforms? Sign a deal in the comments below.

Yeah, unless Google is throwing some major bucks at them to keep this as an exclusive for Stadia, Tequila Works would be stupid to ignore the sales potential and massive install bases of the PS4, Xbox One and Switch. I imagine Gylt for the non-streaming-based platforms will also possibly run better (especially on Pro and X) and...
be available ALL of the time to play.
Looks cool, I'd play it. I wonder how much story there will be.
It's probably dawned on them.it's not going to be the huge hit(Stadia) the analyst are trying to make out.
Glad to get some form of confirmation of this.
That's looking rather interesting. It's not enough to get me to try Stadia, but I'd be happy to give it a go if it appeared on other platforms.
Gylt is clearly currently in development for Stadia. Most developers will released their game on every platform that can run it if they think there is an audience for their game on that platform. There is clearly a group of players who would buy this on PS4 who would not be able or willing to get the Stadia Version. Gylt will probably eventually come to PS4 unless Google cough up more money for an exclusive deal.
What if they mean that Stadia itself will be playable on all consoles???
"Well it was Stadia exclusive, until we saw a poll which suggests virtually no-one in Europe has any interest in this streaming garbage... then we realised the only way we're going to shift any copies is to release it on other platforms."
🤣
I think that with any Stadia exclusive it will be timed unless they are willing to cough up big money for a permanent platform exclusive, unless it's made by their own studios of course. Personally unless they have something big they should just focus on the whole playing games anywhere anytime with a system.
At present Xbox Gamepass seems the best bet for a subscription service but with publishers bringing their own subs out I can see games being kept within publisher subs.
Yes considering other platforms would be the only way I will play it.
Especially after the founders plan announcement. Were we pay to beta test the platform for them.
@shuvamg009 why would playstation ever allow a ps now competitor like stadia onto their platform EA access is a little different. But who knows would be good and possibly the only way ill use stadia. Im not buying any device like a chrome cast just to access yet another gaming platform. I have too many...
I don't know how they get out of an exclusivity in their contract.
Game looks cool, I hope either it or Stadia gets ported over to PS4 eventually.
i'll wait till PS4 release 😊
