How to Unlock All Endings in The Sinking City

Here's how to unlock every one of the game's three endings. As far as we can tell, the choices you make throughout the game do not have an effect on the overall outcome. As such, feel free to play however you like, because you'll still be able to experience any one of three endings when it comes to decision time.

How to End the Cycle

As you enter the final chamber in the ‘Into the Depths’ main case, you’ll come across an altar that the seal of Cthygonnar can be placed into and a Retrocognition right beside it. The two are placed in the very centre of the room. Enter the Retrocognition and walk up to the two scenes in order for them to play out. The correct sequence sees Charles placing the seal in the altar, and then heading over to the ledge. Number them correctly and you’ll be able to carry out those actions in the real world. Do so and you’ll end the cycle for good.

How to Restart the Cycle

As you enter the final chamber in the ‘Into the Depths’ main case, you’ll come across an altar that the seal of Cthygonnar can be placed into and a Retrocognition right beside it. The two are placed in the very centre of the room. From here, turn to your immediate left and follow the path to its end where you’ll come across yet another Retrocognition. Enter it and watch the scenes play out. The correct sequence sees Charles first placing the seal in the altar, and then jumping to his death. Do that in the real world and you’ll restart the cycle.

How to Leave the City and the World to Their Fate

As you enter the final chamber in the ‘Into the Depths’ main case, you’ll come across an altar that the seal of Cthygonnar can be placed into and a Retrocognition right beside it. The two are placed in the very centre of the room. From here, turn to your immediate right and follow the path through a crack in the rock and into a slightly smaller room. Enter the Retrocognition here and watch the two scenes. The correct sequence sees Charles placing the seal in the altar and then leaving the room for good. Doing so causes you to leave the city and the world to their fate.

How to Unlock All Endings in One Playthrough

Due to your choices throughout the experience not having any effect on the endings you have to choose from, it's actually very easy to see all three conclusions in the space of 15 minutes. Simply create a manual save within the final altar room in the 'Into the Depths' main case before you've made any decisions, and you'll be able to reload it from the main menu once you've witnessed an ending. This way you can earn all three gold Trophies in very quick succession.
