Cyberpunk 2077 PS5

Teaming up with powerhouse graphics tech company Nvidia, CD Projekt Red has produced a couple of extremely high quality Cyberpunk 2077 screenshots. These 4K snaps were taken from the game running on what can only be a very high end PC, but they're indicative of what Cyberpunk 2077 could look like running on next-gen hardware such the PlayStation 5.

What's more, the screenshots showcase ray tracing -- the in-game lighting tech that Sony has been bigging up whenever it's talked about the PS5. For those out of the loop, ray tracing is a method of rendering much more realistic lighting, all in real-time. Without getting technical, it gives light "volume", allowing it to coat surfaces or reflect off shiny objects more effectively. Perhaps most importantly, it allows light to better fill space, so in these screenshots, for example, you can see how the light filters into the area, creating an incredibly realistic glow.

Now, we're not saying Cyberpunk 2077 is going to look exactly like this on PS5 -- unless the PS5 ends up costing a ridiculous amount of money -- but the detail found in these pictures should give you some idea of what to expect.
