Update: Konami has now revealed what its 'special announcement' is, and well, it's nothing to do with PlayStation. The japanese publisher is getting in on the classic mini console market with a TurboGrafx16 Mini. It comes packaged with the likes of R-Type, New Adventure Island, Ninja Spirit, Ys Book I & II, Dungeon Explorer, and Alien Crush for starters.

It'll be known as the TurboGrafx16 Mini in the US, the PC Engine Core Grafx here in Europe, and simply the PC Engine in Japan. Of course, it's not the dream reveal we were hoping for, but a neat announcement nonetheless.

Something interesting has just been added to Twitch's coverage of E3 2019, a section dedicated to a "special announcement" from Konami.

It'll take place on Tuesday 11th June, 2019 at 5:30 pm PDT / 1:30am BST (12th June), but the most important question is, of course, what will the announcement be? Konami still holds the keys to a number of properties, but as the publisher has pretty much withdrawn from the video game industry outside of a few select releases, it's tough to speculate what this could be. Dare we dream of a Metal Gear Solid HD Collection port to the PS4? That's what we're hoping for at least.

What do you think this could be? Speculate in the comments below.
